Alpha test for others

Hey Berserker, did you already gave the others an e-mail regarding the alpha test?

If not, when are we going to have one? So we can give this game a shot.

I just started playing this version a few days ago.  I am not sure where to post any critique, being late to the game, so to speak.  I have a couple of observations as someone who is not a "hard core" gamer used to multiplayer format and who is not a designer.  I'm simply a user.

One thing I find a bit frustrating is the length of time it takes to build, train and upgrade during the "New Age" and the Stone Age periods.  I can see requiring more time during the subsequent, more advanced, epochs, and fully expect that as things progress it takes more time to complete specific tasks such as train, build and upgrade.  However, just from a player standpoint, I can also see newbies getting bored with waiting around for something to be finished.

I don't even know if this is possible, but can it be arranged that nothing done during the early civilization ages takes more than 30 minutes to complete?  It can and probably will go up from there, but it seems to me that if you haven't researched anything to take you beyond Stone Age, the most sophisticated buildings and trainings for the period shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.  Especially since queuing up specific tasks is expensive.

As far as scheduling successive builds or upgrades, perhaps it can be arranged that the first two things can be scheduled consecutively for free and the addition of third, fourth, etc builds and upgrades can be an expense item?

Please don't mistake me.  I loved TT1 and TTG and I really like this one.  I'm not so sure how ready I am to interact with others, especially if they are aggressively hegemonic, but I am enjoying the quests, etc.

Just a few thoughts that probably no one will pay any attention to, but my 2 cents worth anyway.

Also, there are dialogue misspellings that I did see if anyone is interested.  Thanks again for doing this.  So far, it's worth the wait and I think you guys are doing a spectacular job.

On alpha 3 launch we will send more invites, more than we sent on alpha 2, still there will be people left. All you have to do is waiting. If you really can't wait and want to improve your chances of getting invite - consider donating, because donators have priority on getting invitations.

Yeah, long times is one thing that TT1/TTG players don't like, but unfortunately the multiplayer nature of the game enforces such long times so people who have a lot of free time won't have an advantage over others who can only enter the game a few times a day.

We have a separate thread for spelling issues, but we fix the spelling only once in a while, when we accumulate a lot of those in bulk, because fixing such errors one by one is time consuming, easier to do in bulk.

Thanks for the information.  I really only get a couple of hours a day to play this so I appreciate the reply.  I will post any spelling changes to the appropriate thread.

I donated back in the middle of last year and am still hoping to be invited soon. Any idea when the next invites will be going out?

So this means, if you have received an e-mail, you're already in the game and your avatar and account will be unto the future?

The avatar changes with each stage depending on which hero you choose to have displayed. Since each stage starts with a wipe and your avatar is based on your hero.
