Clothing Durability Issues

I started a new leaderism hero shortly before the update that introduced two significant changes to the game 1) clothing attrition and 2) changes to drops of items from attacking monsters.  My hero is very active with regards to 'travel' and warfare, and i'm finding it incredibly difficult to keep him clothed.  Here are the issues:

1.  You used to get at least one item from fighting monsters every time you defeated them.  Now, with new heros, the level of monsters you fight are very low, so this in turn means, you very rarely get items from defeating them.  Even if you do get lucky and get something, it is very rarely clothing anymore.  There seems to have been an increase in the number of research vials awarded which is good for low level hero research, but not so good for clothing.

2. If you are lucky enough to get clothing, it's completely random and is not related to your hero level.  This means that there is also a high chance that you'll get something either you can't wear yet because it is from a different age that might not even exist yet, or it requires a hero level that is far beyond what you're currently at.

Ok, bers, you're probably going to say, 'visit the idol to repair your used clothing'.  Well, i've done that, and again, there are issues there for low level heros.

The chance of a repair success is only 9%, unless you use crystals (which you don't have many, if any yet being new) or perks, (again, being a new hero, there aren't many perk points available to use).  Most of the clothes i need to repair, i've used to the point of being 'in the red' so it's nearly impossible to repair them at this point.  Even if i did go sooner to repair them, before they were at 0%, the chances of repair are low.  I've not tried to repair something yet, but what happens if the repair is not successful?  Is the item destroyed?  (If so, it's even a bigger problem!)

Even so, you shouldn't have to use perks, just to keep your hero CLOTHED!  I have now worn out any items with special abilities that i have from killing monsters (yeah, leaf skirts for a male hero).  I am now wearing the default clothing, because this is all i have left, and guess what, even that wears out!!  Very soon, my hero is going to be completely naked.  The default clothing, which gives you absolutely no 'perks' at all, at the very least, should NOT wear out.

Can you please possibly consider these issues seriously.  I know that someone that is playing a collectivism game or someone that is simply interested in 'farming' will not have these issues.  With so many other things that this game has to offer, keeping your hero clothed should NOT be so difficult.

This is only one story, we will wait for others to report similar or different experiences.

Meanwhile you can make suggestions of how you want this to be fixed.

It would be helpful to have more clothing drops for lower level heros.  I don't know, maybe increase the % drop rate for fighting low level monsters?  This alone makes it that much more difficult for a new hero to progress.  You fight monsters with lower level armies, you lose a lot, have to spend resources to retrain, but then end up with nothing or next to it.

My hero is currently meditating to level 15 in classical age, and all that i have in inventory as far as clothing goes are 2 leaf skirts (now degraded), 2 leaf chests (still at 100%), 2 leaf greaves (fully degraded).  I am currently wearing the default outfit and the locksley boots and joint hose are at 17%, the top is at 81%.  So as i said, soon, i will have nothing to wear below the waist.

At the very least, the default outfit should not degrade.  Then at least you will always have something to wear.  But even so, the changes made during that update make it very difficult for new heros to fight monsters, etc. without clothing that gives us extra protection.

As an added note, this hero is 40 days old with 4 towns, so I've had a lot of opportunity to open chests and fight monsters.  Yet you can see how little clothing wise that i've accumulated in this time.

Ok, we will make default outfit indestructible. Also I think it will be possible to give more basic outfit items as rewards in quest locations which should provide some cover for heroes until they reach higher levels and monsters will drop more items.

Hi, my hero is level 15 leaderism and I got 3 towns.

is really randomly, because I found a lot of useful clothing in the chests and fighting monsters. Bers , if you want to take a look in my ynventory, i dont have everything in my mind for a moment.

i found some belts and shoulder protection on the ground, in my second and third town

Leeana, try to fight more against your neighbours, you gain a lot of experience spending less your clothes, you will upgrade faster your hero and you will be able to fight strongest monsters in order to get better recompenses. Once again , is really randomly what you get from them ( nothing , vials, clothes, items for speeding...)

We have alternate opinion now, thanks. I will wait for more opinions so the issue will be described from different point of views before making decision about possible solution.

I have to agree that some clothing wears out too fast. Going to war on my neighbors I find I sometimes come home with no pants :( the idol needs more perks than I have available to give me the chance to repair it.

I like the idea of it wearing out as nothing lasts forever but I just think the rate is a little quick.

I have already gone through my two best helmets at Quincy :( I also agree that finding clothes now is not as easy as it was in the past.

I have the same sort of issue I had a previous hero with a same name which i deleted because i was busy and when i came back i was too much behind but anyways in that hero with only level 4 i had like the main classical age outfit plus quite a few weapons and the monsters also once in a while dropped clothing items and tech points for research but with my new hero i realized that monster drop has quite reduced alot and also the items durability is reducing quite fast now to repair them i need perks while i would like to spend them somewhere else but i do that my hero would have nothing to wear so it would be quite better if you either increase the % of monster drop or slow the rate at which clothes durability is decreasing >_<

It seems that I have to bring more precisions

i am wearing one Overcoted tunic of  Rocks - artefact level 5 and I have another 4 tops availables in my inventory. I am wearing a totemic skirts and I got 4 another skirts in my inventory = i am in medieval age.  i have also one skirt not available now because it request level 20.

But  I completely agree with Leeana and Tuey, everything is going down too fast!

Arya, currently this hero leads the rankings for damage done by a hero in katoria, so strength is not an issue.

Bers, upon speaking with Arya in game, she had no more actual pieces of clothing (i.e. pants/skirts and tops) than i do.  She had just recently switched to leaderism a week ago, so wear and tear from visiting neighbors and attacking was not an issue.

Please keep in mind, this is not simply a complaint or problem involving clothing wearing out too fast, this is a problem that new heros that are 'active' do not have enough items of clothing to wear once they wear out, and yes, they do wear out quickly.

I like the idea of it wearing out as nothing lasts forever but I just think the rate is a little quick.

That's why we have been gathering the statistics about attrition here: http://www.totemtribe.com/news/artifacts-and-item-system-improvements/

We need more details to figure out if it wears too fast or not.

Sorry I just haven't had much time to watch the stats on them :( I just notice when my hero is all the sudden naked.

One of my heros, now Level 11, has been going barefoot because his original sandals, which gave him no benefits, have disintegrated. My other's high heels are on the way. And neither has acquired any wearable replacement.

I applaud the idea of making default clothing indestructible--as seems to be the case for the Art Deco dress already!
