Military units in other towns

I wish there was an easy way to figure out which military units belong in which other towns. I can hover over a unit that is running around the town square and it tells me it belongs blah blah, but when I go to send a unit somewhere else, there is nothing to indicate what town is the home town. It is all generic in description. Just a wandering thought, I like things neat and tidy and where they belong.

Why this information important to you?

I agree with this. I also wish this would tell you where they belong. Mostly so that I know where to go to retrain them later. I hate having to search through every town to see where I need to retrain when monsters kill my army. If I could send the correct units to their home town then I would know I only have to retrain in that town

Still not getting how sending units will change the towns where you have to retrain.

Well it is not totally important Berserker, it is just that I have these lost little souls wandering around my town squares and not the appropriate buildings where they should be. It is like they are saying to me send me home where I belong.

It doesn't but it does make it easier to garrison the appropriate troops in the towns where they were "born" and maybe eliminate the need to enter each and every town and click on each and every military building to see if there is an empty slot to fill because one or more troops have died during the course of monster fighting or even battle.

What is the point of returning them home? Most of the time you have to keep your army together to attack or defend. And sending individual units home each time is not less troublesome that checking each structure.

There is definitely a problem with retraining troops, but what you are talking about is not a solution.

Yes, this has been driving me crazy!

When I send some troops from one town to another and if I want to send them home there is no way to know for example which archer belongs to which town so I usually end up with my military all mixed up.

I am sorry but I don't understand. If you have ten legionnaires trained in one town, what difference does it make which legionnaires get returned to that town .. any ten will do. :)

Ok you don't want all those warriors hanging out in the town square. I understand that .. it gets crowded. But when I drag my army off to kill worms, there remains a few workers left behind that hang out in the town square. The workers do belong to the town - you know they can't be moved. So I could also imagine that when legionnaires, archers, witchdoctors and centurions do get returned to their home town, a few might still hang out in the town square.

Sometimes I will move my men to another town with no upgrades and if I want to later upgrade their weapons or armor they have to be in their dwelling to upgrade them.

I have not upgraded all my blacksmiths to highest level. It is not necessary - I can move my troops and siege weapons to the towns that have the highest level blacksmiths and upgrade them there. I pay little attention to where the troops originated, except that I do know the home town is named in the individual descriptions. I move them around so much it seems they are never home anyway.

Thanks for the tips!  I only tried upgrading them at the home dwelling and it would never let me, I never tried it where they were.
