Monster dens and levelling up - suggestion

I understand the motives behind the recent respawn rate change in the dens. It really was to easy to gain experience - even at around level 10, cleaning the cannibal dugout or feral tribe gave almost a whole level. But I'm not sure that respawn rate reduction is the answer to that problem. Besides experience the dens contribute to: a) getting items (consumables / equipment) and b) having something to do while your town folk are building stuff.

With a) I don't really feel I'm overflowing with useful items - still way beyond any chance to get to level 50 (figurines are still very rare) and right now (even though I clean dens regulary) I don't have spare equipment items (i.e. if a decent one wears out I don't have enough better ores to repair it fully or a spare of comparable quality - I need to use a worse item). So while the experinece gained was too fast, the item gain wasn't too fast really.

Then the b) point - seriously, that is one of the biggest issues - the dens were perfect when you had some time to spare and no way to speed up buildings. Especially the closer ones were cool because you could get there in little time and have some fun with the hope of gaining 1 or 2 really uselful things. Now it's back to where it was before the dens appeared - in 4 days you don't even remeber where to go next to have a chance to meet any foe. Not to mention checking a couple of dens just to find nothing there is really frustrating and makes people use up lots of the time they intented to spend playing your game.

I suggest that instead of reducing the respan rate the experience points gaines and/or levelling up requirement be rebalanced. I noticed that the increase of requirements for consecutive levels grows slowly, as do exp points from stronger monsters. Why not make the curve(s) steeper? So that killing horsemen or cannibals could get you in a decent time to level 5 but after that the points you gain from them and the requirements would be such it would really give you very little? I think that would be a far better solution - not taking away the fun but balancing experience gain.

I for one, am very glad the respawn is every 4 days. it would be impossible to clear wormhole, animated clifs, not to mention yeti glacier and dragon hoard, if you had to clear them all again after 2 days. you would never get to the chests and the dragon keys. Now I can retrain, go back, retrain etc. and when they have all gone, there is time to look for those nasty hidden rock o holes, horse shoes etc! :)

I understood from the update log that the "safe" way to level up should be minimized and thus if you want to go safe, you have to wait longer, but if you are willing to sacrifise your army you won't have to wait as long. Did I understand that wrong?

Tsunami - you don't have to clear all dens at once. Leave some for the later ages :p then you will have better army and it will be easier.

Btw, if some of the dens respawn in more than 8 days, they are literally no help in gaining experience... Please increase respawn rate in towns at least. It was lowered because of the dens, which now don't respawn that often.

I for one am with tsunami. I like the longer rate for dens and I love the longer rate in towns. Plenty of monsters to kill.

Yeah, right, absolutely no help. That's why in A6 players leveling up fast like never before. That's because monster dens are literally no help.

The levelling up was due to the easier dens as you suggested in the update log. The 8 days are not for the easier dens, are they? Not even after you doubled it. I see dendrog lair is about 4 days, so even if you want to play safe, you can still level up quickly while you're <20 lev. When you want a challenge you have to wait 8 days or longer? As Tuey and Tsunami noticed, those dens take some of your army so you have to retrain. Right now there's no incentive to prepare a big army to be able to clean a difficult den swiftly. Still, it's all about going safe.

The monsters dens allowed to level up very fast. Much faster than in previous alphas, that's a fact no matter how you like my irony. Even after 2x reduction in respawn time they still allow to level up much easier than before. That's why not only respawn timeouts won't be reverted back, but also monsters will be brinnging less experience (more according to their overall stats and not just health) and also exp requirements for higher levels will be increased.
