To continue random questions: What do you guys think about request for the treasure chest to bring rams to it when you are peaceful player? Do you feel forced to create building you have absolute no interest in just because you want to get new chests after? Since im most "peaceful" here, if i see that my neighbour is building rams, then my reaction is that he is plotting against me and i can go and attack him first before he is done.

Yes, that's interesting question as a survey about that would be helpful here.

Well, I'm a totally peaceful player as well, but have my workshop leveled up to the max, and created 20 rams. Why do I do that ? Not for plotting anything against anyone, but just because I want to see what my town looks like fully equipped. Later on in the game I will also use them in quests if fighters are needed, but never against other players (only exception if he/she wants me to attack for hero upgrading). The same goes for the nomads yard, which will be at lvl 20 tomorrow or the day after that. Of course there will also be 20 nomads running around. And 20 braves and so on...whichever troop may come in Alpha 3 or the final release. ;)

A chest I found today required 10 rams to unlock it. I am still upgrading the primitive workshop to build the 10 rams. It will take until well into tomorrow to finish the upgrade. I hope there is something useful in this chest when I DO open it.

Haha, optimistic, but I wouldn't bet on that :)

I'm not far enough along to even contemplate this treasure chest thing, I don't think, but started building rams on the off chance they could help with stone barriers. . .. OT: My launcher says the game is undergoing maintenance. Just want to make sure it's not my computer acting up and inquiring if Alpha 4 is imminent and I'm going to lose my progress. ;-)

It's a good idea to add more value to the rams.

I will not build Rams just to open a chest. It is too expensive and generally it costs more to build the rams than what you get from the chests.

:-D I see your point. I'm still looking for a chisel so I'll try anything to get rid of those barriers. . .. ;-)

I have chests in 2 towns asking for primitive rams, 1 for 10 and 1 for 5 if my memory is working. I would not build rams unless I was doing it to use them. As neither of those heroes have any need for attacking I will not be building them. I feel that it will be different in the full version of the game but, at the moment, we continually experience going to some effort to open a chest only to find a blue vial of research points which, even if they did work, we no longer have any need for OR it is ANOTHER plebian skirt - Classical Age required.

This is me as well. I will only build rams and open chest after everything else I want to do is completed. And if I do make the choice to build anything in my country, it will be a personal choice and will have little or nothing to do with my neighbors.

I also only build rams when I feel my towns have developed to the point when there is nothing else to do. Usually I build and train them then destroy the building. I really don't like them since it takes so many to do any real damage if you do take them to war and they are so slow

I agree with these points ... but also that the rams take away a lot of culture points. This alone discourages me from building up the primitive workshop. Plus, resource-wise they are more expensive to maintain.
