Future Plans - Closed Alpha Stage 2

Future Plans - Closed Alpha Stage 2

Since we launched Closed Alpha version of the game, we've had enough feedback to sum things up and make some future plans. Apart from fixing bugs found by our testers in large amounts we also need to produce new content and add features.  It is hard to make plans for the distant future as the priority might change during the course of development, however close-term goals are pretty clear and we would like to share them with you. Currently we are working on Closed Alpha-Test Stage 2 and here what it will include:

  1. New full-fledge Quest Location called "Opposition Hideout". It is already present on the world map, but there is nothing in it yet. This location will be like your typical level in original Totem Tribe where you explore and solve puzzles. It will be somewhat like Herald's Home, except Herald's Home was introductionary and thus  pretty small and basic.
  2. At least one random Quest Location on the world map. Random Quest Locations will be similar to regular Quest Locations except they are much smaller and unimportant to your overall story progression  - they only have some challengs and rewards but nothing critical to the story - they will be added to make World Map exploration more rewarding.
  3. Advisor Quests. At this moment after the tutorial is over you are pretty much all alone and don't really know what to do. Advisor Quests will be given by your advisors - Bulat and Zweistein and by doing those you will learn how to jump-start your country and manage it properly (at least from the beginning). It will also net you a lot of reward items to speed up your buildings, boost your production, etc.
  4. Cash Shop will be added. People will be able to spend their Enkord Cash to purchase useful items and we will test our monetization stuff.
  5. Stone Age will be heavily rebalanced. Although I am constantly tweaking time, prices, and other stats of the game, for the next alpha stage there will be bigger changes - different specializations will be mutually exclusive - War, Expansion, Science, Culture, etc.
  6. The game will be wiped. All your progress will be lost and we will start on the fresh map. Unfortunately major changes are not possible without resetting your progress.
  7. New testers will be invited. We will invite more testers both from people who donated to the game and also among veteran players from our other hardcore online game (GUNROX). We need the latter to see if it will be easy for casual players to stand against hardcore ones as we want this game to be fun for both kinds of people.

I know one major question remains unanswered - when Stage 2 will begin? Unfortunately it is unknown at the moment - there are many bugs found that needs to be tested and these features mentioned above will take some time to implement and polish, so you better stock up with patience again :)

In other news - we've just uploaded a significant bugfix update to the alpha with detailed changes listed in our update log.

To make it clear i played another enkord game named gunrox since the open beta there, later worked as mod for 2-3 years in gunrox for free, i suggest some features of the final game and translate different content and updatenews, and spend my time to find multiaccounts and faker there. The exception in my case was just his decision to invite me earlier instead of later with the other long time gunrox-player.

Here at moment we are just a very small number of tester and i believe all of us are well know persons in the past of different enkord games.

At the first stage most of the content wasn't avaible. We found many bugs and enkord fixed them, also insert some new content. With the next stage in a very few days there comes the next big step but even after this there is many, many work to do for them. If you just want play a funny game, at moment it wouldn't be the best time to start because as active player you will got most things in just 10-15days . Even the fact of account resetting is a bad thing for normal playing. You will play for many hours/days or weeks and everything will be away but they need to do this and check out the new settings and new features from time to time.

I was surprised about all of the features and the ideas. It will be a great game but also notice the final stage is far far away.

ok, I'm trying to be patient. I didn't want to be a tester 'cos I'm just a lone casual gamer who doesn't play well with others and likes solitude - my game-playing is my own private escapism - but have watched and waited and donated to this game since it was first planned and have yet to get sight of it. Have not received any communication (yes, an invite to test would have been nice!) from developers since they asked for (and received) my donation to 'the cause'. Now reading all this chatter I am starting to feel that this is something of an 'elitist club' and it doesn't feel 'nice'.

Actually you have been invited back in the days with the rest of the people playing now (the first wave), maybe there was some kind of mail error that you have not received it. And the fact that you have access to that "elitist chatter" (I assume you are refering to Bug Reports section) means you are one of the alpha testers too cause other people don't have access to that section.

You should have received this link in the email:

http://www.totemtribe.com/alpha/

If you can open it, it means you are one of the testers. However if you want to start testing I suggest you to wait a few days, because we will roll up a huge update soon and will reset the progress, so there is really no point to play for a day and then start over.

My invite ended up in my junk mail. So maybe that is where yours went also. I was lucky and checked for it on release day so found it right away.

Thanks berserker and brendatimj. The link did work but I did not receive the email and it is not in my junk mail either. I was not refering to the bugs reports section - just all the chat here about the game and the various sections. I suppose I was just feeling 'left out'. Having a huge amount of stress here and in desperate need of a new, all-consuming game that I can escape into and just shut the door on the rest of my life for a while, so I keep coming back to this forum hoping to find that the game has been released whilst I wasn't looking, but instead find lots of folk chatting about the game that I can't find access to! Sorry to sound such a pain. I'm just sooooooo stressed out and in desperate need of escape (preferably into a game but will settle for an uninhabited island if that's all I can get!!!!!).
