Declaring War suggestion

So I needed to ask my son, who is a regular player of those "other" online PVP games, (WoW, Elder Scrolls, etc)  what a "troll" was. He said it is a player who purposely upsets/angers other players for fun. So what I have gathered here, is that your definition of a despot as a "troll" is purposely insulting and angering those who do not play according to your preference. So who - actually - is the "troll"?As long as you need to express your opinion in regard to the game play by continuously throwing insult at others, you will not gain my ear. Posting as/hiding behind "anonymous" will not assist you in this aspect. If you wish those who play the despot game to respect your words, please use respect in reference to their play. We as despots do not wish to purposely anger, but instead with to play our game. So many times in this thread alone I have seen experienced players saying simply, "learn to play the game". I cannot stress this idea more. You are in a PVP game. It has peaceful players, aggressive players (aggressive in many different ways), experienced players and newbies. If I were to enter into another PVP I would expect many experienced and aggressive play in those games. What would I do? Complain to the developers? ("Hey Bethesda - Hey Blizzard! Change your game for me!")  ?? or would I learn the rules, how to survive, and play the game?

Anonymous was calling the racist players that came into the game Trolls. I think you all misunderstood what was said. But yes, they are all trolls and there will be many of them in this game now.

A time difference is not a balance, it is a huge imbalance that destroys a lot of aspects in the game, i know there are a few players that got bullied to make the devs want to make some way to help them but it really just imbalanced the entire game.

And i literally see no point at all bringing in new players into the larger alliances, we cant even protect them anymore. Just have to sit back and watch them get attacked over and over while trying to explain to them how to play.

This was the crux of my point.  Thank you.  :-)

TT2 is NOT a war game it is NOT a farm game it is NOT an adventure game, it is NOT a hidden object game  but its all of them. Does this sound more like it? : " This IS a war game, this IS a farm game, this IS an adventure game, this IS a hidden object game this game IS all of them." I carn't remember who but someone said a lot of players come from playing the first totem tribe game and have a shock when they realize this IS a war game  ( as well as all the other things this game is - of course). I know I did when I first joined last year.

I have read all of the comments so far, and this is my opinion. I agree with (I think it was dbarns) comment that it is being advertised incorrectly. I played the original Totem Tribe game and was drawn in. I thought this would be the same. I prefer to play as an individual, not as a group and understood that this was possible. By the way, this is my 2nd alpha. It started bumpy as I was asked to move several times. At the beginning, I didn't really understand why. Once I caught on, I moved and moved again and moved again. Until one alliance leader helped me and told me when I was in a "safe-ish" spot. Thank you Sandy Sue! So I continued and very much enjoyed the adventure aspect of this game. I eventually joined her alliance and continued to enjoy the game. Yes, I played as collective. I do not like the fighting aspect. I do understand now that this is part of the game. But I still don't like it. It brings out the worst in people in my opinion. The anonymity syndrome. There is enough war and negativity in the world, a game for me is to escape that, not engage in it. My 2nd alpha began the same way ... I had to move 8 times before I finally found a spot. Well, my alliance went to war with 2 of the BIG alliances. A few of my tribe were totally wiped. This disturbed me, but I was being left alone. I was not close to any of the despots' borders, yet the other day, one of my towns was destroyed. My members advised they were probably just having a little fun with me. This is not fun!!!! I decided that this was not the game for me and quit. I foresee the BIG alliances eventually wiping everyone out, and left to play the game alone. This may sound extreme, but a distinct possibility. Bers, I see that you are trying to make it fun for everyone, but I don't believe there is a solution. We collective players will never enjoy being attacked. It's as simple as that. Why we chose to be collective. It is an option after all. I almost got sucked into becoming a despot. Started a new player as despot, but decided eventually, that this was not what I believed in. I did try to become part of the game the way it is laid out. Just couldn't do it in the end. You suggest building your defences better. Really? Several armies of despots attacking you, it really doesn't make a difference. Besides, I don't want to be spending my time and money building my defences. I want to explore and solve the mysteries. If I have to build defences just to be able to play how I want to, what is the point. Make it a war game, Bers. Be up front in what this is. You will not have "whiners" like me joining in the first place.

LOL ... I guess that is one way of dealing with issues you would prefer not to deal with. Remove it and suggest it is off topic, when you actually brought up the topic in your response. Just confirms why this game is not for me. It's all about attitude ... and you have a big one. You want to improve this game and ask for opinions, but debunk almost everything anyone has to offer. You do have a wonderful potential here. I hope you find your way to develop it in a manner which will appeal to your target audience. Identify your audience. As I see it, it is the warriors. They don't mind spending a lot of money to build their armies. Advertise it as a fighting game and you should succeed. Best wishes and good luck to you.

Very well said!!! I couldn't agree more. The ONLY reason I am still here is because of the friends I have made on the game, otherwise, I too would be history. Bers, you have the potential for a great war game and I hope you succeed, I will stay to have fun only. If it comes to a major war and I lose everything...fine, the building and exploring is my favorite anyway  :)

I completely agree with everything you’ve said Pliri.  I certainly wish them well with this game, but can’t help but feel it could be time for us explorers and adventurers to clock off, and leave the game to the warriors.  I’ve really enjoyed it until recently, and will miss it.  So sad

I have explained that the subject you have brought has been discussed numerous times beore, and I have answered myself personally to those questions too. If you are looking for constructive things - you can search for those threads, if you are just venting off - your posts will be deleted.

Anyway, since this thread becoming less and less constructive and more of a flame war, it is closed now.
