fighting worms

1 2

Before the last update I could fight and win, now I can not, I lose everything. How are the rest of you doing?

I lose anywhere from 15-35 units fighting worms  depending on the number of large worms in a given group.  But was killing them.  I can still kill them but it takes a lot of units.

I am able to kill the monsters no problem with a few balistas and my hero, which is level 31.

At Kisatchee (lvl 21 hero) I fought two sets of 3 worms, lost a few men but was able to beat them. At Simba IV (lvl 31 hero) I fought one set of 6 worms. My entourage was larger because the number of worms I had to beat. I  beat them without too much difficulty but lost ten fighters. A few of them were spies left over from opening a chest.

You may want to re-evaluate which fighters you are taking to battle?

I think it's more the balistas than my hero level.

I can kill worms - but I take along a mixture of catapults and ballistas, though since the update I THINK I am loosing more soldiers than I used too even with level 3 armour and weapons.

I find that the chariots and ballistas are effective but I do lose quite a bit so I am sure to have plenty of cheap units that can play interference, such as braves and archers.

My monster-fighting entourage always includes ballistae. I am not sure how many I actually "need", I always take five with me.

well you all are right on the  money, the Ballista's rock those Worms right out the window.

In the last 2 months I did successfully fight worms with not so much losses to my army - 2 or 3 braves, several centurions, several Legionairies and Cavemen, rarely an Archer for a strong group of worms (2 big and 2 medium, or 2 big and 4 small). I have 15 ballistas and when my army is in full strength I had never lost a ballista in a worm fight.

Usually when I start with my army in its full strength it is enough to fight the monsters in 2 or 3 towns successively without meanwhile restoring the fallen units - this means 6-7 groups of worms, 4-5 groups of birdhouses, I do not take into account the muscards and dendrogs. I thought I had found the right ratio between the different army units for fighting the monsters.

In the last week my hero leveled up to level 28, I used the skill points to increase the Hero wisdom and strength, I increased my army with 2 units of each kind and I thought that this will make the situation with the monsters better.  BUT at the first fight with worms since leveling up I lost more than 20 units and a ballista! - as if I had lessened my army and my hero got 2 or 3 levels down.

I notice that now with a full strength army I can only battle the monsters in only one town and a part of the monsters in the second without the need to resurrect all fallen units so as not to fully lose  the whole army. So I wonder did something in the Hero, unit or monsters change after the last updates?!

I agree.  The monsters have either gotten stronger or the hero and army units seem to have gotten weaker.  Worms are the most noticeable.

No, nothing have changed for a while, but the higher your hero is, the more monsters there are. Perhaps there are just bigger number of worms than before.

No, definitely the number of worms is about the same as 1 or 2 weeks before - I can see that from the reports. I had increased the army by 2 of each unit. The only difference is leveling the hero up from lvl 27 to lvl 28.

When it comes to those worms I am pretty careful. I tend to get groups of worms from three to six and if most of them are gold I know they will be tougher to beat. I still have no issue with smaller groups and if they are blue or silver. It is the gold ones that carry the damage (1200 hp). I find those to be relatively difficult to beat so I plan to lose some of my fighters. I have noticed that as my hero increases in lvl that more gold worms appear.

In order to prove that there is a noticeable difference in fighting worms I made an experiment. In both cases the battles reported are successive without restoring meanwhile the units fallen in battle.

Here are the reports from fighting 12 days ago. My hero was then lvl 27, my army was less in number.

For today"s battle I tried to find almost the same groups of monsters (at least so strong as before) and fight them in the same sequence. The last group of today's worms  is even less strong than in the previous case. My hero is already lvl 28, my army is stronger. Here is today's report:

It is very clear from these reports that fighting worms in a similar situation my army suffers greater losses than before.

P.S. I have shared the reports from the game - i hope this means that they can be viewed by others.

It would be helpful if you can post screenshots of the reports - the one before and the one after - then we will try to find an explanation, maybe you have missed something.

OK, I'll search them again and will post the screenshots soon.
