Already in FAQ - Q: Can I pause the game when I want to stop playing?  ... Also if your friend wants to help you in battle, he or she can send reinforcements to your village and go offline. Those reinforcement units will help you defend your village, whether your friend is online or not.

Q: Will I have to wait until my troops arrive BEFORE logging off?  Or is simply sending them enough?

I have another question to add to the FAQ. We've already discussed what happens if you don't login for a while, or if the game runs when you're not on your computer... but what happens if you don't login for say, a month? My question relates to what Berserker posted about how you can leave your game and come back and resources will have increased. So does this mean someone can set up an account, play for a few minutes, leave the game for a month, come back and have a huge amount of resources, and then have an edge over other players who have spent resources whilst playing?

That was a mouth full but I hope my meaning got through... Is there a point where if you leave it too long you simply stop gaining resources?

There is a storage limit that is usually reached within a day or so, plus excessive amount of resources can be plundered by other players. You have to keep an eye on your country, in order for it to prosper, otherwise it will become deprived pretty soon :)

Ok, so basically as a strategy I can't just leave my game running for ages - I have to actually participate otherwise I end up losing stuff. I think that's a fair way to do it, plus a good way to keep us players coming back. :)

Yeah, the game will require attention all the time. Not babysitting, as it becomes tedious very fast, but normally it is a good idea to enter it at least once per day to spend accumulated resources, order new research and construction, and stay competitive comparing to your neighbors. Hardcore players might want to enter it several times a day so they will have optimal earnings/spendings and farms and mines are not stalled due to storage limit is reached, but for casual players once a day or even once per 2 days should be enough.
