last gem in Gazing Canyon

Leafdancer	I've got only one gem left in the entire game, and it's in a blacked-out area of Gazing Canyon, the the NW part of the map between the pyramid and an isolated section where there was a Gazer nest. Sending my scouts to either side of the gap between these two areas does not reveal enough of the map to show where the last gem is.
