Monarchy 5 town placement

So, someone told me Monarchy 5 town was ideal for fast research.  I was hoping with just 5 towns, I could place them a cell or 2 further out, from dwelling and still have zero or low corruption.

I thought I would share the results and see if anyone had any suggestions.  I don't have courthouses yet, so I can get rid of most of the resource corruption, when I do.  Later on, there will be buildings to reduce corruption on culture and science.

Hi, I think it depends on how you define "low corruption". Considering that under normal despot/collect politics the corruption would be 30% (20% with fully upgraded courthouse), I think corruption values of let's 5%, 10% or even 15% (if just 1 of the towns, not all - look at it from an average between all towns point of view?) are de facto quite good. I think that also really comes across when you crunch the numbers a bit more and compare science point generation per town and/or total generation of all towns between the 2 politics.

Obviously (simple math) more (than 5) towns in monarchy, if placed decently, speed science progress up even more, it's more a matter of whether one is up to handling more towns.

Adding more towns will not make anything better, just worse.  0 Corruption in all 5 towns is possible with correct placement.  as pointed out, anything lower than the corruption you would have had with despot or collect is still a bonus.

Maybe my eyes deceive me, but seems you have 6 towns, not 5.  only way to fix your problem would be delete a town, choosing the one with highest corruption.

I added in a 6th town, in the gap between Dwelling and my 2nd town, to see how it would change the corruption.  Then I demolished the town.
