Thinking of you Bers and the rest of the team.  The situation is horrible, and doesn't look to be resolved soon, stay safe!

Actually I am very optimistic about this whole situation, Russian army is suffering a lot of losses :)

Glad about optimism Bers :) sending thoughts and prayers

I have been thinking about the possibility that the russian army would be defeated, and what came to my mind is that Putin would feel even more humiliated and as a consequence may use the nuclear weapon as he sometimes said. A lot of people though that despite the army was all around Ukraine there wouldn't be any attack, and yet it happened, so the same could be true for nuclear weapon. What I'm less sure about is what would follow: NATO still not doing much, or this time think it went too far and nuke back Russia, in which case Russia would nuke back and so on and that would pretty much be the end of the world. Not trying to ruin your optimism, but that's what I have been thinking.

I'm curious by the way, do all men, including you, got a free rifle ? Are you fighting yourself ?

Yes, some of them got it, but right now there are way too many volunteers to fight back and get it. Personally I saw all of this coming 20 years ago and bought my sniper rifle, armored vest and helmet and other equipment many years ago. Personally I am not fighting yet because I have 4 small kids (oldest is 7 years and youngest is ony 2 months old) and don't want to leave them alone, so I am staying home, but will be shooting saboteurs if they will get close to my house. So far, major battles are outside of my suburbs so I just stay alert.

If anyone willing to help Ukraine you can push on your governments and ask your friends, relatives, other citizens of your countries to push them too and do the following:

  • Force more economical and other limiting sanctions against russia and russian citizens. Currenly estimates say every day of war costs russia 20 billion USD. If it would cost them 200 billion per day, they war would stop pretty fast.
  • Give Ukraine more and more advanced weapons, especially high tech anti-air and anti-rocket systems are needed to minimize losses from russian rockets and planes. Unfortunately Ukraine has old anti-air defense systems with limited effectivenes and no anti-rocket systems at all.

No need to ask your government to get involved in war directly, with modern weapons we can fend them off on our own.

We keep hoping someone will listen.  Felicitations on the birth of your fourth child.  I am just sorry the wee babe has to face this world of insanity right now.  Keeping hope alive.

Citizens are most definitely pushing and responding.  The world is responding in unprecedented ways.  Over $13 million in Bitcoin has been donated.  Crypto is pouring in since banks are useless. People are rallying, protesting, and crowdfunding.  Social media is blowing up.   Anonymous has hacked the Kremlin website twice now and will hit again.   Stores, restaurants, bars are all pulling all Russian products and destroying them and only selling Ukrainian products.  Cities are lighted up in blue in yellow.   Everything is playing out live here. Make no mistake about it.  The world hears you.  We are watching and trying to help in any way we can.

I heard about that on a french radio but it wasn't clear from the journalist or unprofessional, he said that maybe it was in fact still accessible from Russia, but, what the heck, the person who said that could have checked quickly with a vpn to be sure about that, so I don't know if it's really inaccessible for everyone.

Thank you for the answer berserker, I was afraid to be misunderstood after frodo's answer. Weapons should be on their way already, countries are just careful to avoid them being stolen or destroyed by Russia. Macron, Johnson, even Biden and probably more are far from perfect leaders, but so isn't Putin fortunately, and that shouldn't matter because it has no impact on the weapons you will get. Stronger economical sanctions are being taken (like "swift", that thing that I didn't even knew existence 3 days ago) surprisingly well, but again, and he said it again today, I fear that Putin's reaction, mad enough, would be nuclear weapon, I really never though he was worse than north korean dictators... Your country would have to shoot any planes/missiles coming to avoid that, which, well, doesn't sound easy.

- One more thing people can do: if your computer get a ransomware, I'm not 100% sure about that, but, do NOT pay even it's worth the money, I always though about the idea that russian government found some hackers and told them "we're not going to send you in jail, but among all the millions $ you're stealing, you are going to give us 90% of it", I personally got one in 2016 and didn't pay, I was depressed for a whole year but who know what that money could have done. I was already quite depressed back then so I wasn't careful and I let my backup drives plugged too long to my computer when I was attacked so I even lost the backups, don't be like me.

- I'm glad your president didn't meet Putin for so-called negotiations, he shall never do that no matter what as it's an obvious trap to assassinate him.

- Something optimistic I have been thinking about, is, if really your country is able to defeat the invaders, something incredible could be done, the same thing Staline did after Stalingrad was freed from the nazis: a counter-attack, at least up to Moscow for the Kremlin, but I (and no one exactly enough outside of Russia) don't know what percentage of the russian army is still in Russia to protect it.

- A thing that I have been thinking that is to avoid at all cost would be a siege of Kiev like it happened for Sarajevo not actually even that long ago (for those who don't know, that's the story of the game "this war of mine"), but if as you say the war costs too much to Russia, they won't have the money to make one.

Thank you for your kind words. No I am not planning to leave. If anyone can, you may donate more so I will pay for servers in advance so in worst case they will keep running for some time. Servers are in USA btw.

Ok I donated, even though I am not playing the game. I would ask each and everyone of you, that is playing to donate something for Ber's and his family. I hope your family at least got out Berserker, it does not look safe over there at the moment.

They are not willing to, and frankly, I don't see objective reason. Situation is not dire in my area and unlikely will be THAT worse. All those refugees you see in the news are only a small fraction of the nation that are the most susceptable to panic. Most of the people are staying in their towns either to fight back or to help defenders in other ways.

Personally I have very positive mood because I see through the situation. It is obvious already that russia have lost and this loss is fatal. Sure, there will be quite some  time when they will keep attacking, but their army is demoralized, their economy crushed and now every day of war is making our odds better and their odds worse.

Finally, after hundreds of years we will be able to finally live without russia trying to make our life worse.

This is the best thing I've read about this situation yet.  It's been heartbreaking to watch and your perspective is uplifting to read.  I hope you are right about the fatality of this loss and I hope that bear stays in its den.  Hang in there Bers and keep us posted.

I never knew you to be a hopeless optimist, so hearing this from you gives me hope. I so hope you are right and that Russia recognize their failure and the Russian people realize what "they" are doing is wrong in so many ways.

Congratulations on your new baby, a boy this time? Keep them safe!! xxx

Do you think you have enough explosives for all those incoming tanks ? It sounds like the final assault, if they are destroyed it might be the end of the war.

Hi Bers.

I hope you are able to see the amount of support your country is getting from around the world. So many protests around the world, even in Russia, Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, Sidney Opera House along with many other major buildings all showing the blue and yellow of the Ukraine Flag, donations of food/clothing/medical supplies, veterans wanting to join you, there is just too much to mention.

Keep safe and I hope this nightmare is over very soon for you all.

Hello, Bers. I am from Russia, but I am against the war. Strangely enough, it would be better for my country if this massacre continued longer. The more cargo "200 and 300", the greater the guarantee that no one will ever come out with the slogans "We can repeat". I think you'll understand, hold on.
