Rebuild following attack

Hello All – I’m looking for help following a town attack.  I’ve lost all housing, walls and towers and hero residence, but municipal buildings, resources building plots, and seminary have survived.  My build time has gone from 50% to 500%.  I’ve built a new hero residence, and a few new cottages.  I’m really struggling to interpret the rebuild figures on original buildings.  I’d be really grateful if somebody could help me, please?

Thank you everybody for advice last night.  I now have another question.  In damaged town, I have built a new hero residence, and 4 cottages, rather than spend stupid-hours trying to rebuild existing hero residence.  Despite that, my building time on destroyed cottages, and the new ones is still displaying 500%.  Can anybody tell me please if that is to be expected?

if there are many other buildings still there then yes it is to be expected.

Thank you for your reply, Tuey.  I’ve really only lost houses, walls and towers.  Have embarked upon a hero residence rebuild of 350 hours, and will see what happens to build rate after that.

houses are why your times are so high, they are what reduce time.

That makes sense, but I’ve rebuilt and built new 4 cottages and 1 apartment, building rate has not moved from 500%.  Too little to make a difference, do you think?

they reduce building time 2% per level so your times are actually above 500% most likely.  it's just that the max shown is 500%. 

like your times can remain at 50% for a while if you have built enough housing such that they are really below 50% but all you can take advantage of is a 50% bonus.
