Returning resources from locations

I accidentally sent the wrong resources to a location (Food, to Keepers Village, instead of Wood).
How can I return the food?

Unfortunately you can't return resources from locations.

Luckily you sent food instead of wood or stone, because you can send your army to quest locations to eat up the food there, which will save a little food in your towns.

Well that's pretty stupid.
I can attack someones location to steal supplies.
I can send supplies.
But I can't send a trader to go pick it back up?
How long has this game been out now? 5 years? And something as simple as this hasn't been sorted?

It's intentional to prevent storing your supplies/resources on quest locations,
Send your army or animals to eat that food. :)

Very good point - many simple things have not been sorted

Ok, I get that it could be used to store bulk resources.
But what about us other poor unfortunates? At the time of sending my max capacity was 1000 of each resource. 500 mistakenly sent is a massive hit.
Why not put a limit of like 100-300 total resources returnable per calendar day (or every 18 hours as the game seems to like using that figure).
That way us poor startups don't lose bulk resources, and mid-end game players can't use it as hideyholes?

I like this idea, not sure what will Bers think about it tho.
