They are there somewhere. I swear though that cave items are colored in a way to make them Really hard to tell apart from rocks/the background, Not to mention they can get put in places where only a tiny bit is sticking out so its really hard to notice them.
Finding Cave items is the hardest thing to do in caves at the moment IMO.
