[Survey] What do you think about music in Totem Tribe II: Jotun?

With latest update we have added another music track which is sort of anniversary - it was 50th track made for this game and therefore I was wondering what do people think about music in this game. Please answer the following questions:

  1. Do you play with music turned on, or just sound, or none at all?
  2. Do you like the music in the game in general?
  3. Which tracks do you like the most?
  4. Which tracks do you like the least?
  5. Do you listen the music from the game separately (like on your phone, etc) - I know probably not, but I've heard some  people do.
  6. Any impressions, ideas, or feedback on the music you might have - like what kind of music would you like to see in the game and where, maybe something is lacking or excessive, etc.

In the beginning I turned the sound off, because the building sounds and so forth get really annoying really quickly but I left the music on. The music is nice and usually provides a nice atmosphere to the things happening(just like in the original one, absolutely loved the music there). No particular tracks stood out to me this time though.

Over time, since this is a game that I keep open in the background sometimes, I've turned the music off completely because I like to listen to my own playlists too and I don't want to switch the volumes on both the game and my media player all the time.

The only time I turned it back on was for the opera quest. And since then it's been off.

Music is turned very low. I never really notice what is playing... do not listen to music in real life either.

I liked that much musics and even ambient sounds that I listened them that much that now I can't listen any because I find them annoying, so I play the game only with sound and actually I would mute it all if the game blinked/I received a message when I received resources instead of just a sound (there is a report but if it already had a "!" nothing changes).

The musics I liked are the oldest ones, el_tropico, of_caves_and_trees, seashore_waves, birds_fly_to_vyriy, prehistoric_hunt, but I also liked miner_chimes. I dislike grandmas_gramophone, totem_rock_tribal_roll, enemy_in_da_house, get_ready, the_end_is_nigh, basically every guitar ones. The other ones are fine but I liked them less.

I listened them on a phone.

I liked the remix of the ttg musics, I'm sure I would like a lot a remix of the music we had with places with skeletons.

Totally forgot about that track. Pretty good remix material, I will think about that track when we will be considering more music for newer quest locations.

I like the music , especially at the banquet in Karfaree.  It was happy and lively.

I like the music.  At times I do have to turn the music down as it scares my dog.  She was abused the first six years of her life until I adopted her; therefore, she scares easily.  The music in certain caves with monsters really makes her jumpy.  But so far I like all the music as it seems to fit with the themes.

I dislike grandmas_gramophone, totem_rock_tribal_roll, enemy_in_da_house, get_ready, the_end_is_nigh, basically every guitar ones.

Yet I like a lot the musics of megaman x3 which are heavily based on electric guitars. By the way, did massage/Dj Mohax also make all sound effects of the game ? And will he make another music for the upcoming locations like he did for mines ?

He has some personal problems and not writing mustic for a lot of time now. Maybe one day, but chances are slim. We will be reusing existing music. Good thing there are loads of it in the game already. 3 tracks made for Space Age are not in the game yet though.

Hello.

1. Yes always and I enjoy all of them.

2. Musics : Ruins of New Kiyv, Tabor/party at Karfaree/ caves, mines, ...

3. Tabor and New Kiyv.

4. The music I like "less" is the one for the dooms day (hard and hot burning guitars are too violent and repetitive).

5. No but I play so often; wow wait a minute, that is probably because it is a good game and very good musics too ;)

6. Medieval music (a "Pavane" for instance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ro1eMDYVc9A&list=PLyJzaZ9NM3XLebKE_lFu29RdHGo3cMJyJ

or modern musics inspired by medieval one. For instance, a music liking to Enea Volare :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=si6-bpEHzKE

or Blackmore's Night (Under a violet Moon)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frv93sVjn1U

As the medieval times are long enough in this game, we could have several musics like them.

What about Alexander Machugovsky aka Manwe and The SandS ? From what I googled he made maybe only 2 musics for the game and I don't even like those lol, but it would still be good to have new musics anyway.

He did those that required guitars since DJ MoHaX is a DJ and don't do guitars.

I always found the music in opposition hideout boring, but I watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGUIjVsSXxU at speed x2 and it sounds awesome at 12 48 and even better at 14 17, if one day you need a new music you can just do that instead of reusing another track.

Google's search algorithm is terrible by the way, I discovered only now that by searching for videos about tt2 on youtube directly I was getting many results, searching with google (despite it's the owner of youtube) only leads to a few videos that aren't very useful and don't even have a higher views number and are older.

I listened to all the musics again in speed x2 (without higher pitch, I did that using vlc and clicking on "faster" playback speed twice), "path to the stars" sounds better, it in fact simply looks normal to me, the original being too slow. "get ready" is great and really sounds like it was recorded like that and then slowed down, and in fact, I suspect that many musics were slowed down on purpose to make them longer, as almost all musics are very close to exactly 6 minutes long. "pleasures you have never experienced" sounds very cool but obviously even shorter and it was slow on purpose for that place in karfaree. "empire rises" (medieval battle music) is also pleasant to a lesser extent.

Somehow I only realize now that almost all musics and ambients are made to loop perfectly, you often hear a sound at the end that continues at the beginning. So to listen those I recommend using winamp, as vlc usually leave a small delay when repeating.
