I'm the first to admit that I'm horrible at puzzles. I like them, but they don't like me.

I am trying tot understand the information about the weeding puzzle, but I think that even in my own language I would need translation suitable for a dummy (me!).
I am not getting it.

Is it possible to place the information text somewhere so it makes (more) sense? Pretty please.

OK I'll give explaining this a shot.

Tip #0: Think of this mini-game as a modified version of minesweeper, that should give you a basic idea of what to do.

Tip #1: Your goal is to uncover all the road tiles while avoiding the hidden flower tiles, all road tiles are connected to each other, their are no isolated sections of road.

Tip #2: Flowers are the 'Mines" in this game, And for each flower in a tile that means it is connected with that many other flower tiles at the sides, so no diagonal flower tiles. So I suggest at the start of this mini-game your first move is to clear the tiles around 1 flower tiles and work from there.

Tip #3: Roads cannot make 2x2 boxes or bigger, so if you ever see a spot where it would make a 2x2 road,  its a hidden flower there.

OK I tried my best, though if this is not enough other players can help you out as well.

Hope this helps otherwise :)

Thanks Dumbha,

Tomorrow I will give it a good old try. Thanks for your explanation. Your tips should help much.

to say there are no diagonal flower tiles can be misleading as I have had one already. It really depends on the size of the flower groups.

Huh. Guess I read the old woman's tips wrong then. my bad then :(

Quote which one is misleading.

A question about the Garden Puzzle - is it possible that 1 road cell doesn't have road cells at its sides and connects to another road cell only diagonally?

In the tips above not in the flower directions.

I think I have had road tiles that connected diagonally only, but I will have to test whether that is true the next time I can play the flower garden puzzle again, although the explanation given by DUMBHA is a pretty good one and cleared up a lot of the gray, fuzzy areas of understanding the in game clues/hints. Thank you DUMBHA.

Now I need to remember how to figure out the Keeper's Village one again.

This puzzle throws me, too, and I'm usually pretty good with puzzles.

I think it would be helpful if we could somehow go ahead and complete the puzzle, even after messing up and weeding a flower, just so we could figure out where we went wrong.  I need visuals to learn from my mistakes! :)

I am with Saintless on this. I do not understand how to solve the puzzle.

Since last update you can play first 3 levels with no delays after completion/messing up. This is exactly what you are asking for.

I have made it through the first 3 levels, probably more by luck than by skill... :)

Maybe I should have asked, instead of being able to complete the puzzle even after messing up, that the whole garden immediately become uncovered, so we can see our mistake.  Just like in Minesweeper, once you hit a bomb, the whole puzzle uncovers, so you can see where all of the bombs were, and you can see where you went wrong.

That would really help some of the more "visual" players like myself. I too have been able to complete the 3 levels, but really stuck now. Probably completed them by mere luck.

Tip #3 boxes can be larger than 2x2 but cannot be 2x2.

This game differs from minesweeper as the flower number is inclusive.

The roads are important, but flowers are counted adjacent. Flowers catty corner would exist but would be from another flower group.

The rules are absolutely essential to solving this puzzle. The hints, however, are not.

With all of this understanding, I still find this puzzle to be difficult.

I have some questions about this minigame, because when you have 8x8 puzzle, you need to make too much guesses to solve it.

1. Except square and rectangular flower blocks, it is possible to have L-shaped flower blocks. Is it possible then that the flower blocks can be T-shaped, [- or ]- shaped, E-shaped or any other shape, provided that every flower cell touches at least another by their sides?

2. Over how many cells you can use The Flower Herbicide?

3. Is The Flower Herbicide disposable or you can use it again?

The flower game is based on a game I know as Nurikabe.  I'm not great at it, but I like the game.   Conceptispuzzles.com has a good summary of rules and tutorials if you need it described in a different way.  Sometimes it's helpful to learn while clicking step by step through examples.  I will say it's a challenge to play it in TT2 because of the 3D effect.

In TT2 it is more complex because you cannot mark cells where you suppose or where you are sure there are flowers. And in Nurikabe there is at least one cell of each block revealed, while in TT2 you don't know how many flower blocks are there (there can be absolutely hidden flower blocks).

Thank you, Myxolydian, for the link to Nurikabe.  I've never heard of the game.  I still mess up when I try to do the flowers, though, because as Lucille said, you cannot mark the cells you know or suspect are flowers.  I get totally confused - no good with mental markers - need visual.   I even tried to put a mark on my computer screen with a grease pencil, forgot I have a touch screen, and bam! That was the end of that game.  :)

Thanks, Bers, for cutting the time back to 15 minutes between mess-ups, so we can get more practice.  Any way of fixing the puzzle so that we can place markers?

The complication due to inability to place markers is compensated with the fact that unlike Nurikabe, here you can do a blind guess (Nurikabe requires you to submit full solution).
