New Items Panel and more!

New Items Panel and more!

Today we have released completely new items panel into the game. It's been a demanded feature for a long time and finally we have managed to implement it. It might be a little bit unusual at first, but you will love it eventually.

But this is just one of the features.

We have also added a selector for Places of Interest, thus you no longer need to scroll the map to find that one particular place - you can do it with just a couple of clicks.

Another major change is the ability to enter a quest location you have previously visited without actually bringing your hero! You won't be able to interact with anything unless you bring your hero - no clicking on anything, etc. However, this will allow you to check monster dens to see if the monsters are respawned already, review previously missed locations to recall what have you missed there, etc.

Also now player info screen has medals, prestige points and prestige levels, so those players who hunt for achievements and victories can be recognized.

Finally there is a number of convenient tweaks to make the game more pleasant overall:

  • Reduced time for fishing and digging treasures
  • Petroglyph effect and cost doubled to make it more useful for a longer time
  • Idol of Forture timers now should work better and give you more time to spin so it won't expire unexpectedly breaking your 7 day chain
  • Higher chances to get equipment of your age unlike now when you are spawned with items you can't use.
  • Numerous changes in Karfaree to make it better (like the dreaded opera quest).

You can read about other small tweaks and fixes in the update log.

Thanks for the great update: POI's and especially the little red dot above the new items in hero's inventory.

But i do have one request please : Info block for monster dens: they now say "last battle 7d 4h 17min ago", for example. In the past it said 7 days at 10:04, as an example. I found this far more user-friendly as i can immediately see what time i should be visiting there again, and thus gives me a chance to plan what else i can accomplish before i want to be there. Now i have to calculate what time i should be there.

No biggie, but I think the original way it was written was better in terms of ease of use.

Does the reduced digging time also apply to anomalies? I am currently working on gravity anomaly and the dig spot for the sun dial is still 1 hour (X 2).

Sorry, another small issue: Disassembly of items:

I don't know if this applies to many people, but i seldom disassemble items ad hoc. I am more inclined to pick a time when i have nothing else to do and disassemble useless items en-masse. In the old inventory system, it would 'remember' where you were in the inventory and you could just carry on picking from the same place, now you have to re-open inventory, scroll, find where you were, pick the next one. Repeat. This becomes irritating, especially when your hero is quite developed and you have a large number of items.

I do love the new button for the poi's , however the new inventory is a little pain in the butt. When I open it, it is so big that it covers 2./3 of my screen,  so when I want to break an obstacle  I have to be sure my inventory does not cover it. While 2/3 of my screen covered with intventory I only have a small piece left to search for the obstacle. Is it possible to adjust the inventory a bit. I dont mind scrolling in my inventory :)

Agree totally with snooky on the size of the inventory panel.  It will be exceptionally difficult in dungeons with timed objects, you wont be able to keep the inventory screen open to find the objects, and when you are ready to drag them out of inventory onto the chest, youre going to have to make sure you position your screen just right so that you can see the chest to drag onto.  Im also thinking the garden puzzle in thornsville is going to be a nightmare now :(

The new system of adding power ups is no longer the quick easy method it was and it is no longer possible to add them to all cities within seconds.

We now have to be in our towns to add hoes, axes, treatises etc but when we are in town there is nothing to show us exactly what we have added/or is already in use and therefore for every item we now have to "do the hokey cokey" to go to the map and check because if you add another of the same the game doesn't advise you that you have already applied that item, or ask do you want to add another, it just adds it on to the previous one and you are given 48 hours instead of the 24 hours you just needed the boost for.

Sorry but this aspect of the new system is not user friendly.

Can I make a suggestion? Add a small panel somewhere on the right edge of the game that you can hide if not needed and allow us to quickly grab the latest adventure items we have available such as Scythe, torch, unmelting ice and so on or just rework the whole gui (again lol) and instead of the advisor faces that are literally never clicked on after completing the tutorial, add action buttons such as hand to automatically pick up stuff you click on without any grabbing of items (honey from trees, valerian potion...), eye to investigate stuff (fishing, treasure hunting...) foot to walk - same as flag button (who uses this anyway) and flexed arm to do action tasks such as clearing the thorns or melting the ice.. Much more practical and better looking imo...
80% of the new inventory gui seems like a downgrade btw. Even the small dot under new items you find is really hard to notice especially if you have couple of hundreds items and the only thing you want to check is if it's artefact or not..

Those who say inventory size is too big please post a screenshot so we can judge - different resolutions might have it differently.

We will make new inventory remember the tab and scroll position between openings.

You don't have to be instide town, you can apply all of the powerups from the world map. Use "backback" button on your towns.

When you start dragging the panels disappears so it's much easier to drag over something than before. Additionally while you are dragging you can drag closer to the edges to scroll.

I have been doing the timed puzzles in the dungeons - opening the inventory and dragging it to the chest was definitely clunky; difficult.  Luckily I was only looking for 5 objects, but when I get to the bigger dungeons with larger numbers of objects to find, I think the extra time it takes is going to make doing the puzzle in the time way harder.

The POIs list though is great :).

Please can we next have the other locations sorted and grouped into dungeons, caves, mines, anomalies and quest locations.  I am assuming that some system is on the "to do" list.

if you could add the research books to that list on the "backback" or backpack that would be of help too

Also I really wanted someplace I could store the equipment I want to use. I still have to search and hover over each item to see what it does to use it. Just a thought.

I was truly hoping to be able to use more then one item at a time with this change, it is really annoying to have to put 7 hoes on my town, one at a time and sure I could use a plow, but I have over 100 hoes, so I normally use them up first.

I totally agree with this. Although I understand I can now just look to see if the monsters are there.

Just wanted to add, that as much as i like the new POI finder functionality, i'm a bit underwhelmed by the changes made to the inventory panel.  I was really hoping we'd see some of the things people have been asking for, for ages, like being able to group together equipment outfits (one for war, one for defense, one for overnight resource building, etc.).  Or even the ability to select more than one item to send off to the idol for destruction, since clearing out inventory of unwanted items is so very tedious having to do one item at a time and going through that animation over and over :/  Additionally, i hate to say it, but the background colours on the magic, etc. items makes the inventory panel look almost....child like.  Not sure how else to put it, but kind of makes it look a bit 'unsophisticated'?   As i see it now, the only difference in the panel is that it is now bigger and bulkier and takes up much more of my screen?

Another functionality that has been lost is the ability to see what 'special' features have been added to equipment when you hover over them.  You now have to click on them to see what these features are.  It makes destroying items that much more tedious as you now have to click on them to see if you really want to send that item to the idol or not. Please at least let us see what the equipment does when you hover over it like we could before.  Yes, you can see it in the hero tab when you are putting it on, but not when you are in the general inventory screen, where you have to select to drag to an idol.

Would have also liked to have seen a similar sorting out of the quest locations....like all of the dens in a row, all of the caves in a row, etc.  Sorry, i know i'm asking for a lot lol.
