Preddo Mountain is close to completion

Preddo Mountain is close to completion

It's been over six month that we've been working on the last story location which advances the story abrupted in Gypsy Tabor and we are getting close to releasing it.

It's been a long time since we have been posting news so we decided to do this announcement to shed some light on what is going on.

Like previous story locations we have been trying to make them unique enough so that each story location brings something new to the table. Same applies to Preddo Mountain.

The Preddo Mountain location consists out of two parts. One is Preddo Monastery which is relatively similar to other Totem Tribe quest locations, but the other one is mountain forest which you have to pass before you reach the monastery. The forest is a shapeshifting mysterious maze which is a tough nut to crack even for us, the developers. It should be a challenge to all Totem Tribe fans. Also this forest will be different for each hero so it will be replayable.

The monks in the monastery know the entrance to Secret Library so it is your final stop before reaching it and hopefully getting the Bronze Sphere, which is an end of the Act 1 of the game.

Let us know what you think about it. Are you excited about it or not that much? Do you care about story in this game or you enjoy other aspects more? Are you still waiting for game updates?

You can also ask questions about upcoming location in the comments.

Are there plans in the future to continue chapter 2-5, or will adventure victory be available with finding the Secret Library?

I am so happy to read this good news, i really enjoy the story and new locations. Very impatient to discover Preddo Mountain. Thank you for this great game. I love the idea that there is so much more to come, even though i still discover new things with every new hero.

I absolutely love the storyline as you know by my weird (or maybe not) time will tell theories and have been waiting for an adventure victory to attempt since you brought victories into the game.

Ok having exhausted myself I am now sitting 'in the back seat' ...

are we really nearly there Bers?

We have plans to Make all 4 planned chapters of the game, but at this rate who knows when. At least we are still going.

No, I am afraid we need to make all 4 acts to qualify for adventure victory, otherwise it's just too easy.

I would say 90% of the content is done, I am writing the conversation with the main character of this location right now and the rest of the work left is testing and polishing.

No offense and after all I'm probably the only one thinking that, but personally I'm not so interested by the story while I'm very interested to see space age one day, here is why:

To play each new quest locations once they are released, one must replay every other quest locations just to unlock the new one (waiting for multiple to be released is an option to have to replay other quest locations less but then one must wait at least months for another quest location to be released). This is not too much a problem for karfaree (well, I still think that hero needs to walk a lot and a lot of dialogues have to be skipped, I even made an autohotkey script so that when I maintain middle click it spams left clicks) but cutting so many thorns in thornsville is really annoying and I wasn't impressed, you know, in 2018, by the "cinematics" in gypsy tabor the first time, so meeting them a second time would be just waiting times like if you replay zelda ocarina of time and meet again the owl that you can't skip despite you already saw what it had to say, it really hurts replayability.

When I made a run with innovation studios to reach level 50 to finish all caves/monster dens etc, I could do everything that is possible to do in karfaree instead of almost nothing like the first time I came there, but that doesn't mean I found it fun, I just walked a lot with my hero, skipped a lot of dialogues, made a lot of clicks to buy everything in the markets, even wasted many lucky coins to fountains and debtor just to see what would happen because I didn't have any use for them anyway, but, I didn't meet anything actually fun like the puzzle you have once you finish all dungeons or the only one in gypsy tabor. Karfaree is the one that makes me the most think of towns in secret of evermore on snes, where you have to talk to a lot of characters in the right order etc to progress, and I'm not an RPG person, but after all it makes sense, as the FAQ says, this game is a mix of a real lot of gameplays, it's unlikely that anyone can like every single aspects of the game (me I don't like that, a lot don't like to be attacked etc) and fortunately most of it is optional, that's actually why this run I'm not going to do again most of what I already done in previous runs like dungeons and caves.

So far I also don't like what you have to do to progress in quest locations, most of the time I asked for the solution because I didn't find it myself and once I saw the solution, I didn't felt like I was spoiled at all, for example in gypsy tabor when you have to cut trees to poison the guards, nothing could make me think that it was the solution because it really didn't made sense, every guards are watching you poisoning the cauldron, and they just don't mind and will drink it anyway. Another example, in karfaree when you have to give a lot of red clothes, I though I was smart by finding the solution by actually equipping 7 red clothes that I expected to give to the girl, just to realize that instead you have yet another time to find hidden objects (and objects that here were not even visible before you talked to the girl so this adds even more confusion). A last example: the fact that you have to get naked to go in the pool in karfaree: you don't even have to think about what you have to do to progress, the guy there directly tells you the solution, spoiling the fun, and then all you have to do is 9 rights clicks to unequip everything and have to find what you were wearing before after that, that's, quite empty in term of gameplay, not even a gimmick, it's not fun.

I talked here a lot about previous locations but that's because I'm expecting the next ones to have the similar things that make me not interested, if not annoyed, in them.

So, I still think that I will check pedro mountain with this hero if it's released before I reach apocalypse, hoping to see anything fun in it this time, but that's more because it's a now or never matter, that is, if I don't check it before my hero reaches apocalypse I won't be able to check it at all until I make another hero, if it wasn't for this limit I wouldn't rush to check it at all.

On the other hand, I'm very interested to see space age one day because it really adds more content that takes months to enjoy instead of just one or two days like it is for quest locations, sure I will have to restart from stone age but it's different every times: no neighbor so a lot of space to expand or neighbors with which you can trades world resources, different world resources (having or not having silk, diamond etc makes a big difference), nearby tiles filled or not with mountains/forest if you want to switch to monarchy or have a lot of oil, proximity of river/sea to make a lot of boats, different climate etc.

Anyway, seems like other people are excited to see a new quest location so it's all good, just don't get mad if no one comments about it for a few days once it's released like you did for gypsy tabor, it would probably just mean that once again they didn't complete it yet because they are stuck right now.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I am a big RPG fan and to me story is almost everything! Replayability is also important. Hope new content supplies both of my desires :)
