What's a "Nick Ring"?

I have acquired an item called "Nick Ring" that appears in my Hero's equipment list, but refuses to be equipped! It is not marked for a later era --I've got a pendant so marked--nor does it show any other restriction.

It has weight 5 and "Attrition 10/10" (whatever that means), the same stats as my Primitive Club, but it won't go into the Weapon slot (yes, I temporarily emptied that slot first) nor any of the other 8 slots.

Any explanation known?

I think it is a neck ring.  I also do not see how to use it yet.

in perks, you can open up ring slots (charisma, on the left, the slot to the right of III). there are more like slot for amulet, read the perks.

Jewelery at this stage is useless - it doesn't give any advantage, only increases your Hero load. It will be implemented maybe later.

My thanks to all. I am baffled by the reference to perks, and I see nothing labeled III. However, I am VERY new and expect that I won't have everything available yet!

Finally found the perks referenced. Opening the ring slot is to the right of "Enchance [sic] Item III" in the Charisma array. Since items in that column are marked "[NOT WORKING]", I don't suppose I'll be wearing any ring--even if rings themselves are implemented.

Similarly for amulets. That perk is to the right of "Insightful III" under Charisma, and that column also isn't working.

Yes these are not working. They did just make some work as announced in the update log. That is the thread to read through to see what has been fixed or is now supposed to be working.
