No lada's, package had no Figures of Enlightenment or blueprints.  Maybe should be 1 each, minimum?

The package contents are random just it has always been. The only guaranteed item in that package is tamed scorpion.

I can't even use the trident thing, I click on one and try to place it in my town but just goes back to inventory 

You have to use building menu, not item menu.

The statue boost to storage, works for Wood, stone and Iron, but not food?  I don't currently have oil or electricity researched.

Yes, it only works for Lumber, Stone, and Iron.
