I search bit (not too much) and didn't find anything regarding this, so here is my question. I just went to war with my neighbor. She destroyed my army, (kudos to Janice), but I don't understand how that was possible. Her army consisted of : 5 Braves, 9 Witch Doctors, 27 Archers, 10 Legionaries, 16 Greekfire and 2 undead. She lost a total of 6 Greekfire, thats it !! My army : 2 Hunters, 21 Braves, 2 Horsemen, 12 Primitive siege, 16 Archers, 16 Legionaries, 6 Praetorian, 3 Centurions, 9 Catapults, 17 Greekfire, 2 horsemen with swords,4 Battering Ram, 1 Swordsman, 6 Priests, 1 Daggerman and 1 undead. I double her army, so how is this possible. I just want to understand how the war aspect of the game works and the logistics behind it. So in the future I know how to better prepare.

Are you both collectivism? If so, she has a 300% defensive bonus and you have no attack bonus. If you are leaderism you do get an attack bonus, but she is still going to get her 300% defensive bonus if she is collectivism. Does she have towers? Those will impact greatly on your ability to survive as an attacker. There are threads about the attack/defensive bonus in the forum. Look up communality vs leaderism and see if any pop up.

What's desperately important is: Who attacked whom? Because it's not just the armies, it's the towers! Have you tried reading the post-battle report?

Then you are really going to have a tough time. If I recall correctly, as collectivism your attack power is only 30%. The leaderism hero and it's army fights at usual strength. Couple that with towers in town and it's no wonder your army died.

Thanks for the replies. I still don't understand, how you would make a smaller army able to win a battle only based on their politics, but, it is what it is.

You should switch to leaderism if you want to be efficient in attacking. As a collectivism attacking a leaderism, you only did 1/3 damage, because you just cant attack players as collectivism and expect good results, if your were leaderism in the same case of attacking another leaderism you would do full damage, 3/3, your army would be 3 times stronger and could have much bigger chances of winning.

On small army battles the biggest impact of 300% bonus is the hero. Imagine other side has 3 heroes when the hero alone is usually the strongest unit.
