My favourite is the Renaissance World Map music, kind of reminiscent of Debussy - i never find it tiresome or repetitive. In terms of creating ambiance, the super-creepy dungeon music is perfect. For monster fighting, the Medieval one. On the subject of monster fighting, I find the change from age to age quite unusual - the Medieval is all dramatic "ho-ha-he-ha-he-ho" in those nice bass voices, but then the Renaissance track makes me think that you're more asking them to dance than to fight. Then on to Industrial it's like you're challenging them to an arm-wrestling match in a dive bar in the bad side of town :)

The battle music is according to the overall age and you are right about your comparisons, Medieval Battle is indeeed brutal and epic, while Renaissance is like a honorable and chivalrous duel with dualists wearing wigs and rouge :) Industrial one is just Rock'n Roll :)

My personal preferences :) In the list I used original names of mp3-tracks. 1. Clouds are gathering
2. Glimpse of winter
3. Concert nostalgique From the ambient-like tracks I enjoy "The Abyss".

I absolutely love "winds of winter" or whatever it is called from the ice continent. Although I have to say that the original from TTG was better... this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQIbjd2uSJQ ) Also, I love that one track that is only playing in seacoast towns. For number 3 I would have to choose between New Kyiv and the jungle locations (ie muscard's marsh or keeper's village - but I would probably take the ones from TTG over them). I think NK wins, but only slightly. In general I think soundtracks in TTG were simpler and I prefer them over most of TTJ... With most of them I never got bored having the sound on for hours in the game. I think it created a great ambience and I can still put a youtube walkthrough music on to remind myself of the nice feeling of the game. With TTJ I switch music on only in those locations were the above mentioned tracks are playing - with the rest the music is tiring me after some time. Especially in later ages, I feel the soundtracks are overworked and I generally don't have them on.

When first signing on I hear the original TT soundtrack and still today it is nostalgic for me. I like a lot of the music that is presented here (the opera was a bit mesmerizing) but I would like to see this original music as one of your choices. To me it just feels like TT "signature" piece whenever I hear it.
