Final Ratings?

I wondered if anyone knew how the final ratings are calculated? I have beaten both alien bosses three times, but I have never gotten a rating over 78 percent. I'm not complaining--seeing the shamans in action, especially after they learn thunder magic on Volcano Island, is great--but I'll probably replay the game again and wondered if anyone could give me some guidance? I read here that you need to update your previous islands, but using what criteria? Tetala and Dolphin are so small that you can't possibly include all updates, so do you increase the population? Make sure that the technology is at its highest? Continue to have lots of military units? Me, I'd junk the barracks, etc., and put in temples (just wish the game had libraries and schools too!), but the game is long enough that I would rather not experiment. Any guidance would be helpful!

Score rating is calculated basing on stats shown to you at score screen. Creating more buildings and people will increase rating, but spent time will decrease. 78% is a high result. Here some players shared their achievements: Discussion #77

I thought that time, population, and buildings were probably all in the calculation (and from those stats it looks that population and buildings are important, but "civilizational level" in and of itself is not). I also just figured out how to win more territory back from the "dark" to have more building space--those towers sure are handy! Thanks so much for your help--and for the wonderful game! I'm a recent convert, and I can't wait for TT2!

I will post this on the ranking thread, but here are my stats thanks to your comments: Total population: 6664 Buildings: 1360 World Explored: 100 percent (and I did NOT use cheats--I'm too computer illiterate!) Gems Collection: 1001/1001 Quest: 227/227 Time: 25 H 02 min Game Rank: 91 percent The time would be lower except I couldn't find the last shark's tooth and spent an hour looking for it--uh, duh, I forgot to return to Shark's Archipelago! I would post the screen save of these stats, but for some reason the software can't locate the file (which is on my computer because I just opened it).
