I am hoping in future alphas that our heros do not have to be 'Barbie and Ken' perfect. I think it would be fun to have a short plumb hero, she could be bald or not have a perfect hair-do. The males could also be made less muscular with a pot belly. A few wrinkles and some fun colored hair could be added also.

In Totem Tribe the portraits are hand-drawn which adds to the charm IMO, unlike most games where heroes are 3D models. Because of this it is impossible to change body proportions because items that fit them are hand drawn too. If it would be 3D models it would be easier to scale, but the art would look too generic. Thus you are stuck with perfect Barbie and Ken. Also it's part of the idea to make player heroes look really fit, while other non-playing characters have more comical and cartoony proportions to emphasize on the fact that the hero is from another world. If you want inperfection you can always take a look in the window :)

What about facial features - older, younger, wrinkles, scars, and gray hair, tiny bit of hair?
