How can I stop being associated with someone.

Last weekend I was out of town and tingatinga signed into my account to start researching a new tech for me. Now we are associated. How do I stop that? We don't know each other at all in real life.

Association is designed to be irreversable.

There should be some kind of warning. I had no idea this would happen and I wouldn't have had her go into my account if I had known.

There should be no warning. "Association" is meant to mark accounts which are "close" to each other. If someone trusts you to grant full access to your account (login/password) you are close enough to be marked and exposed. There is nothing degratory in being associated it's just a signal for others, for example for rival alliances if they have someone associated with someone on the other side.

There are many penalties involved with being associated. That is why I think there should be a warning. A warning or notification of some kind will allow people to have all the facts when they chose to have someone go into their account when they are away. I don't think imposing those penalties permanently without notifying people it will happen is fair.

I don't understand why trusting someone is a reason to keep me from trading with them, reinforcing them, or attacking with them.

Because often those two associated people are the same person and those restrictions are there to limit people from making multiple account to be used as single one. Keeping such case unlimited will quickly turn the game into competition of who has the most accounts.

Your case of babysitting other player's will be resolved when we will implement proxy system which will allow to control country of other player without sharing account details, but for now there is no other way and association handles account sharing exactly like it supposed to work.
