How siege works?

Anyone know how exactly using siege related stuff works? As I really wish I could knock down some enemy towers so they stop killing my guys but I'm not really sure how.

You need to build rams, when you will graduate from killing towers you can destroy whole town with catapults

Reseach workshop -> build rams; research catapults -> build catapults.Gather your army, pick onslaught as attack and see what the result will be

I already know the basics of how they work. I was just wondering if anyone has done some number-crunching with them and figured out what amount of them you need to beat an enemy tower of [insert # here] rank.

Yes she has crunched the numbers but really you should just try it out. Or as Frobot says she could come and demonstrate
