I need specific instructions for playing solo

I read the FAQ but it still is't clear to me how to launch and play this game solo.  I don't want to play with other people.  I need step by step specific instructions on how to tell the game to let me play solo.  Also, I need specific, step by step instructions on how to leave the game for days or weeks and NOT DIE in the meantime.  So that I am not constantly starting over every time I come back in. Is there a way to stop time or save my spot or whatever???? Sorry for being stupid but this is so different from any game that I have ever played before that I am simply lost.

there is no way to play solo. And while you can use the save button to go into "vacation mode" it will not stop you from being destroyed by some other player if they notice you are inactive

I know the game description and the video they made both say you can play alone, but it is very misleading. You can not play alone as in you and only you in a solo game. What alone means is literally by yourself in a world of many other players that's always running no matter if you're playing the game or not. As tuey said the vacation mode you can find in your hero menu when you first log in. Right next to the change hero button you will see a little disk icon that says vacation mode.
