I just want to share some ideas that might help the game experience. 

 Regarding the explorers, what if we only got a report when they found something. I think it gets crowded with all those reports of nothing.

After learning something new when I click on the beaker, it brings me back to the beginning. What if it brought you back to your last learned item.

Our heroes and army  have the healing witches to help them, monsters I don't think have anything. What if they also needed time to "heal" after a battle.

And last, It would be helpful if the hammer turned green when there is a possibility to build a new structure. 

I might spend to much time playing.... Love the game :)
