ships siege and destructive power

industrial age ship called cruiser that is a siege weapon; siege damage: 10 (x33)
medieval age ram that is a siege weapon, two ages before the ship; siege damage: 10 (x60)
I get it that those ships are meant to deal damage to normal units more that the siege buildings, but still they are so weak compared to the defensive power we may face in a town, and we know that the normal damage to units is not increased with hero intellect ..

What do you mean damage to units not increased with intellect?

I saw it at report, I didn't get intellect damage bonus, I got just the damage bonus from battle cry and and the gloves, while hitting regular units, not hitting buildings

Still don't get it. The point of intellect to increase your army attack against other units (not against buildings). Are you saying it does not increase your attack?

What khaled means, if I understand him right, is that ships don't get the intellect bonus that "people units" get when fighting units. At the same time, their siege effect when not fighting people units is also fairly low (if you compare costs to make them to a normal landsiege unit like trebuchet). So you kind of loose twice when making them.

I agree with him. I enjoy ships, but the above plus their slow speed (has also a lot to do with where you are on the map and all continents seem to be the "4 leave clover" shape anymore?) makes them more of nerd hobby. Hardly anyone builds ships which is really too bad, imo.

yup I meant the intellect bonus to damage do not apply to ships when attacking other units, and the siege damage is so low, that's right :)

that 1.2 is the bonus from gloves, only gloves, I have high intellect so it should be 1.5 (like the second photo from same replay)

For my ships, regular army attack bonus has always applied (if theyre fighting units not buildings).

You probably didnt send your hero along with your ships. If ships are sent separately, they obviously dont get the bonus. Doesnt matter if they were matched to arrive at the same time with the hero and the reminder of your army.

If you want your ships to have regular army bonus, all your land army has to be on transports and sent out alltogether.

Those image fragments you posted reveal nothing, but im pretty sure your hero and cavalry were not on transports and were not sent out along with those ship-o-lines.

I agree that the wording of some perks and such is confusing to say the least and incorrect completely at times.

For example '...increases other unit's attack/armor/health if they are fighting alongside hero'   - if sent out separately but matched to arrive at the same time, all the units are fighting alongside hero, but bonus applies to those only that were sent alongside hero.

cavalry were not sent with the hero too, that's why I chose a cavalry to put, they were sent seperate from hero, but all arrived at the same time with the hero all together, that's why they got the bonus from the hero, but the bonus is different, only gloves bonus to ships, but all intellect and gloves bonus to cavalry
