Skull Puzzle Walk-through (SPOILERS)

This puzzle is hands-down easier than the garden, but for some people there is some confusion on what to do, so I decided to create a walk-through to clear some things up.

The numbers shown in the pictures relate to the steps found under the picture. X's found on the pictures are cells that are safe to clear. O's on the pictures are cells that must contain a skull. ?'s on the pictures are cells that may or may not contain a skull.

I start on a corner for this puzzle. If I'm unlucky and a skull is underneath it, no problem! The puzzle resets without a time delay, so don't worry if you fail.

1. The first cell I opened showed a 1 line. This means in *any* direction, to the sides or kiddy corner this cell will only touch 1 skull. I guessed and opened the cell to the SW and it also showed a 1 line. I then made my final guess on this puzzle and opened straight south of 1. Since there is only 1 cell left for the initial cell I uncovered, I know it is a skull.

2. This cell is a 1 line cell. Because we know it touches the skull found in step 1, we know that every cell it touches (including kiddy corners) will not contain skulls and can safely be revealed.

1. Anytime you have a blank cell, NO skulls are touching that cell. It is safe to open every cell it touches, including kiddy corners. When you see this, open the neighboring cells, and if any of them are blank, continue clearing any they touch as well. Often this will let you clear out a lot of the puzzle without having to make any decisions.

2. This is a 2 line cell. It must touch 2 skulls in any direction. After clearing the blank cells from step 1, we see there are only two cells it can touch, revealing another skull.

After clearing all the blank cells, much of this puzzle was revealed.

1. The cell to the NW, a 2 line cell, can only touch two cells, revealing where the skulls are. This now reveals the cell directly E must be clear.

2. Directly north of this 2 line cell was revealed as a skull. Two cells to the SW is a 1 line cell revealing that directing south of this cell is the second skull. The remaining cells can be safely revealed.

3. This 3 line cell must touch 3 skulls, again in any direction including kiddy corners. The cells to the NW and SW reveal that the skulls for this cell lie N, S, and NE. The remaining cells can be safely revealed.

1. Oh no! A 4 line cell! This cell must touch 4 skulls in any direction. In this instance it can only touch four cells, the others were revealed following the earlier steps. Since it can only touch four cells, they must all be skulls.

2 & 3. When you come across cells that have more than one possible spot for a skull, don't guess! Work around these spots and it will usually be revealed later. One of the two ?'s will be a skull, but we have no way of knowing which one it is yet.

1 & 2. By working around the ?'s before we are able to reveal where the skull is hiding for that pesky 4 line cell, and finishing the puzzle.

If any of this is unclear or you have any further questions, feel free to ask them in this thread. I'm happy to walk you through it.

I think the easier way to explain this puzzle is "minesweeper".  I know a lot of people compared the garden minigame to mine sweeper (it is not)....This puzzle; however, is.  Dash=1, V=2, triangle=3, square=4.
