Uninstalled and re-installed game, now I can't log back into my original account

I unistalled the game as it got all funny (probably after my last forced Windows update, not your bug), the upper and lower bit were obscured so it was hardly playable. Installed it again but, not only the problem is still there, but I'm unable to log back into my original account - I'd have to start anew with my old account as an "associate".  I can log into the Forums but not into the game. Is my account lost forever or is there a way to reclaim it? Sadly I didn't add my phone number but my gmail address is connected to the account.

I managed to get to the login page but it demands "my first boss last name" as a secret question answer. I'm sure that I didn't choose that question because I don't remember. So what do I do?

Sorted with a lot of pain in the backside.  I need to backup my account properly - and I advise everyone to do that :)
