Update personal info requirements

Today there was an update in TT2 Jotun. And now it won't let me play unless I agree to share a lot of personal info - like my gender, age, and phone number, as part of the service agreement. I have never played a game that required so much personal info and it makes me nervous. What is this about? And I cannot play the game until I agree to all this.

Since the update today, I am getting a prompt to consent to provide personal info such as my gender, age, phone number - in addition to what I already provide, my email, IP, and browser fingerprint. I have never played a game that required my gender and age - except to affirm I am over 18. This is making me uncomfortable. And I can't play the game without consenting to all this. Please can someone explain how this is safe for me and why it is necessary for Enkord to know all this?

We have updated our website to comply with various international laws and regulations like GDPR, CCPA, etc. which enforce us to ask for consent about storing personal data at least once per 6 months. BTW, that page is not asking for more personal data, you have already provided us that data, we are asking your permission to continue storing/using that data. BTW personal data is used only for your account protection so we can identify you as a rightful account owner in case you will loose access to it or if it will be stolen.

Thank you for such a speedy response. I do not recall ever telling anyone at Enkord my age, gender, phone. How do you get that information?

We are asking everyone about name and birthday after player plays the game for some time to protect account. It probably happened a long time that you forgot. Phone can be optionally linked to accounts that donates us money as an extra layer of protection so you can recover your password via SMS.

Your account created 6 years ago, so I assume you have provided us that details around that time.

This question is not for my account, it is for Kona#1.  The email in your system is an old one that is not used and has not been used for quite a while.  He cannot get in to the email to reset everything.  Anything you can assist with to get his old account for the game back?
