Visibility of Hell Pits

Bers asked me to post everything I wrote to him on the forum so here it is ...

Dear Bers, please can you always make hell pits visible so that when nearby people go to victory it is possible for the ones still playing to actually find them without having to clear half a map again.

This is where I had to start clearing from when the first person completed      https://imgur.com/8XiLIKU

As you can see it isn't far from my dwelling at all being as Animated and Muscard Marsh are surrounded again and it has been solid mist since then.

Now I am one of the people that don't mind creature habitats as they don't cause problems if you keep on top of them but you can't when other people's victories can bury them under new mist and so you have to send your explorers out to clear areas which you have already cleared and maybe even more than once.

The Vile Groves and Breathing Glaciers aren't such a problem as they are nearer to home but Hell Pits are a long way away.

For the record last week I lost all my army except for 2 cats, 2 trebs and 2 mortars tackling one that had 26 dragons in it (managed to kill 19 of them though, wonder where the other 7 went) and that hell pit was from the week before that, found last weeks further on in the same direction.

Managed to find this week's in a different direction but thankfully with less dragons in ... there is just too much ground to cover when the mist comes down again so please make them visible as my 18 aerostats and 40 bards would really like a rest as they have definitely earned one.

The fog uncovered by you is never covered again. What you describe is definitely a fog you haven't uncovered yourself. If it looks like you will be one of the last from your alliance, you can temporary quit your alliance in advance to clean up for for yourself in preparation for those late days.

Ok Bers if you say that is what happens I have to accept it but it honestly didn't seem that way. I have continued to send my explorers out day and night and have now completely uncovered the area to the east and south of Sim and am working my way northwards, the explorers I sent last night have found the hell pit I have been looking for since Thursday but you can imagine my surprise when I clicked on it and saw that it had been there for ... 11  days    9  hours   21  minutes

To say I was surprised is an understatement as I have destroyed 3 hell pits in the last 2-3 weeks, the first being the one mentioned in my above post that had 26 dragons in it. Once a hell pit is found and destroyed it is natural for us to think that we have found the one for that week but it looks like they are appearing more frequently than that which, if it is the case, isn't very fair and 1 per week should be the maximum please.

This is a screenshot of the area I have cleared of fog with Sim's explorers and the red dots show roughly the positions of the hell pits, the one I have just mentioned being the most northerly one.

Looking at that map can you honestly say that your placements of the hell pits are fair/reasonable given how far away they are from the dwelling and the different directions they are in when factored with most people having to work and being unable to spend as much time as me clearing the fog looking for them? Please can you have a rethink on hell pits in general for everyone's sake.  In the meantime ... ♫  Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to destroy I go  ♫    with fingers crossed  _X_

Suggesting we quit the alliance to clear the fog isn't practical when we can't re-enter the alliance for 7 days and the reason we usually hang around for the last few days is solely to supply resources for the alliance members so we need to be able to see them in order to send to them.
