Game under maintenance

Hhhm, I noticed that an update was available and wanted to start the update, but then appeared the following message: "Game is under maintenance.Please launch it later."

I really wonder what is going on there. Just a small update or THE update to Alpha 3 ???

Was advance warning given before this last Alpha update?

I was hoping to get in some nation building before leaving for my afternoon deposition. . . .  ;-)

Is a 5 minute warning, too much to ask?  

I hate just being booted, the chance to do a couple of quick things, like ensuring troops don't starve, before you hit the button, would be much appreciated.
