It would be really helpful if you make a diary of your Classical Age progress - like what you researched and built in which order and how much time it took for you + any of your thoughts on your progress. That would be really helpful to us to balance Classical Age properly.

Do you want a daily or weekly entry from a player?

Optimally I want a summary, but as it may take a month or even longer, a weekly will be fine I guess. Daily will be too short to be useful as some classical age tech might require more than a day to finish.

I've started with polytheism after mining but it seems pretty useless since I can't build residence. I can't build anything, not even houses.

Now I am doing writing and it will take me aprox. 7 days. Let's hope I will upgrade the resources more (from three towns).

We should be able to upgrade first the resources, the huts, the chieftain hut, all together or in the first wave, anyway.

I started with mining.  I have been upgrading production facilities and researching polytheism, which I started as the next lowest in research points and to get houses.  I plan to research writing next.  Classical age research has taken a minimum of three days so far.

I started researching Mining first.  Then I researched Polytheism.  I don't recall how long it took for those two.  I am unable to build anything with Polytheism.  The Temple is in the build inventory but it says "under construction" and I also need a level 3 residence.

I'm now researching Strategy.  I have 7 days left.  I'm using the petroglyph (when I remember to fill it up) at level 7 in my first town and level 5 in the second town.

There might be a lot of downtime during some of these research categories that take weeks.

Also when you post about it, please post how many towns do you have and level of your production facilities and shrine so we will get the idea of your research speed.

I have two towns.  One shrine is at level 9 and the other is at 7 (second town).

My production facilities:

First town:  Crops:  2 at level 8; 3 at level 7; 1 at level 9.  Lumber:  2 at level 7; 1 at level 9; 1 at level 8.  Iron:  4 at level 4; Stone:  4 at level 8.

Second town:  Food:  5 at level 4.  Wood:  3 at level 5.  Stone:  3 at level 4; and Iron:  2 at level 2; 2 at level 1.

Is that all you need?

Lvl  9 - Altar
Lvl 6 - Petroglyph
Forest lvl 9 (1 @ 10) Storage lvl 17
Crops lvl 6 Storage lvl 9
Stone lvl 7 Storage lvl 15
Iron lvl 2  Storage lvl 2
Dublin
Lvl 5 - Shrine
Lvl 4 - Cheiftan hut and Petroglyph
Forests lvl 3  - Storage 2
Crops lvl 2 - Storage 1
Stone lvl3 - Storage 3
Irone lvl 1
I'm assuming you don't want a list of all of the other stone age buildings so wont post them unless you say you need them.  I started classical age tech with mining and am currently researching sailing.  I started that 3 days ago and it was 20? days I think, then you tweaked the timings and yesterday when I logged on it was down to 13 days.  By building the Petroglyph in both towns yesterday and upgrading them both my research time is now down to 7 days as I'm keeping tasks qued in each of my Petroglyphs.

All five heroes have two towns each.  I took a reading last night at around 9-10 p.m. (2200 hrs) my time (GMT-4, I think).  Resource production is essentially the same.

Halfrek

Polytheism first, writing second masonry third.

06/20:  Masonry started 1 day + 9 hours.  Dwelling shrine=10; Dwelling petroglyph=8 and is constantly running;

Second town shrine=6; petroglyph is L5

06/21:  Masonry 18 hours, 52 minutes left at 11:30 a.m. my time.  15% of dwelling resources diverted to research.

Dwelling shrine replaced with Library L 5; petroglyph L8.  Second town shrine and petroglyph unchanged.

Dwelling Resource Production: 4 L 8 stone; 3 L 3 iron, 1 L2; 1 L10 lumber, 2 L8 lumber, l L9 lumber; 3 L7 food, 2 L8 food, 1 L9 food.

Second town Resource Production:  3 L4 stone; 5 L2 iron; 5 L3 food, 1 L4 food; 3 L6 lumber.

Edmundsdatter:

Polytheism first, masonry second, writing currently.

Last night the time remaining for masonry completion was 3 days, 4 hours.  At 7:40 this morning the time remaining was 2 days, 19 hours.  Petroglyphs were running all night.  The time at 11:30 this morning is 2 days 16 hours.

Dwelling shrine=L10 (10% diversion); petroglyph=L7.

Resource production in dwelling:  1 L10 food, 3 L7 food, 1 L6 food; 3 L8 lumber, 1 L7 lumber; 1 L10 stone, 1 L9 stone, 2 L8 stone; 3 L2 iron, 1 L3 iron.

Second town shrine=L7 (7% diversion), petroglyph=L5.  Production:  5 L4 food, 1 L3; 2 L7 lumber, 1 L6; 4 L3 stone, 1 L2 quarry; 4 L2 iron.

I will have to provide more information regarding the remaining three in another post as I am pressed for time.

Do you still need reports?

Researching Mining – 2 days 19 hours

Only one town

5 gardens lvl 6;1 garden lvl 7

3 forestries lvl 8; 1 forestry lvl 9

2  stfields lvl 6; 2 stfields lvl 7

Sheds: Crop lvl 12 Stone lvl 12 Lumber lvl 17

Shrine lvl 9, Chieftan hut lvl 9, Petroglyph lvl 7 but I used it once at level 5 and then forgot about it

Yes, this is still needed.

I am just checking what you actually need. Do you want to know the number of science points being attributed at a particular moment, as is shown by the Shrine of Knowledge, or do you need a snapshot of all production, as is found in a report when one is spied upon?

Also, in addition to the level of the petroglyph, are you requiring the number of tablets and types which are used?

10 years ago Quote
10 years ago Quote

I guess since the recent changes we cannot spy on ourselves anymore.

Should all speed ups being used be listed as well.

I need approximate picture on how long it takes to progress from tech to tech and levels of production buildings and shrine is needed for a better understanding. The Classical Age is desiged for up to a month to beat and I am measuring how far are we from that estimation.

I'll update this post as I move foward on Classical Age.

Here's my report:

AvantheTotem (my first and only town atm)

Chieftain Hut lvl 8

Shrine of Knowledge lvl 9

Altar lvl 7

Petroglyph lvl 7

Gardens lvl 4

Forestries: 2 at lvl 6 and others at lvl 5

Stone: 2 at lvl 6 and others at lvl 5

First of all, I researched Petroglyph and then upgraded it to level 3, then I started researching Mining, which took about 3 days and 22 hours, while researching Mining, I keep building tasks and upgrading Petroglyph until lvl 7. After completing the research, now I'm upgrading the Iron Camps.
