What's the best way to read and talk to non-english speakers ?

Today I spoke for hours with a nice russian person, but it was a bit unpleasant: I really spent my time copying his messages to google, pasting them to understand, writing my answer, clicking on the double arrow icon to switch "russian to english" to "english to russian", then to make sure that the translation is good, copy the result, paste it back on the left, click on the icon again (and do all that again if the translation wasn't good, using different words this time), finally pasting it in the game (but sometimes the message is too long and has to be split, so tedious... please, can at least private/alliance messages have a much longer limit (since they don't require a speaker horn) ?). Not only that, but maybe "because" of my framerate of only about 15, sometime when I press ctrl+c to copy a text it doesn't work so I do it a few times everytime to be sure it works. Also, if while I'm selecting text, a new message appears, I have to restart selecting again, it's not just annoying, it also means that I have to select and copy the text quickly before someone else talk, which happens often on alliance chat.

Isn't there a better way ? I understand that mpop's suggestion of a live translator would be hard to implement, but isn't there something else ? I though about using a live ocr+translator software, but I think it wouldn't work well because I already tried that a bit and the result wasn't good, I think it's because characters are small and also the background of the text window isn't a single color but many ones because it's a bit transparent, showing your town or world map. And anyway it would only solve half the problem because I need to talk back in russian so I need to translate my text. I also though about something not using ocr, that would work with me just selecting text or selecting + pressing ctrl+c and I would see the translation right away, but after a quick google I couldn't find a software like that, maybe I missed it though.

And... that's for a desktop computer, for mobile where text isn't selectable it's just impossible, even if it was though it would be even more tedious to select text to paste on google translate, and writing with the mobile screen keyboard isn't great anyway (for that last part, I guess using a small bluetooth keyboard would help a lot but it takes some space in your hands).

I realize now that I'm thinking that especially because the game is played in portrait so the keyboard is smaller, one workaround for that is to rotate the phone once the keyboard is open to have a large keyboard, but then you can't see what you're typing, probably cannot even know if you have reached the characters limit (currently even if you stay in portrait, I will post a bug report about that in the next minutes), and then to see the answer you need to put back the phone vertically, doing that everytime you want to type something is quite annoying.

I asked chatgpt (which often say wrong things, but still) if there was such software and not exactly like that it seems (and those he showed me weren't free). It doesn't sound too hard to create (using google for the translations) but I guess so far there wasn't the need for something like that as usually ocr or a translation directly done by the game was much better.

Thank you for the link, while google translation is good enough, deepl is slightly better and require less clicks, but it still require to make many copy pastes.

I googled myself and in fact on sourceforge and github there seem to be a few softwares that do what I described, chatgpt is very good at finding some things but terrible for some other.

One other idea I have to talk with someone is, if that exist, giving him the link to some website that allows you without registration to speak with someone in your language and it gets translated into their and vice-versa, but I doubt such website would show the translation back first to make sure that what it translates into is the right thing, and also it wouldn't be possible to report messages in the game since the chat is not in tt2's private messages. Also some people may simply not want to bother copy pasting that link into their browser, especially on mobile where they would have to type it manually.

But I think I found the very best way, at least on pwa version, it would just need a few modifications of the game from berserker: safari on ios or chrome on windows, allows to automatically translate the page live, right now using this feature only translate the "to play fullscreen do the following" thing but nothing inside the game itself, but maybe the game could be modified so the chat could also be translated by this. Maybe even the whole game, so people who can read only spanish/italian/portuguese etc could also play the game right now.
