Fun for all

Sofar we are paying on 1 continent, trying to combine all kinds of styles to play. Some like to play agressive and play a lot of pvp. Others like to play defensive and mainly like other features of this game. And many may like a mix of both.

What if next alpha starts with 3 zones, with different basic rules. For example:

1 a harsh zone: There all defenses get a -10% and attacks get +10%, Despots/Monarchs would like to go there.

2 a moderate zone: no changes. A true challenge for all

3 a peacefull zone: There all defenses get a +10% and attacks get -10%, Collect/Republic would like to go there.

They idea behind this is trying to make this game please all kind of player styles, without one kind of playing style drive away any other, giving space for all.

1. A typical PvP zone - like in hundreds other pvp games - no interest !

2. No one will go there ! lol

3. A giant farm game ! lol

This game is different and unique because is mixing All the aspects ( farm, puzzles, mystery, quests, pvp...) and all type of players ( defenders , attackers, neutrals) .

I have to agree with Arya on this score.  Separating play by zones is tantamount to having another server to separate the pvp from the rest of the game.  I have no interest in that either.

I also agree with Arya and River.

I agree with Arya, Tuey and River. The mix of genres make this game truly unique.

I think all three zones will be bored stiff pretty soon. they will miss the mix and excitement that comes with it.

I wouldn't care for separate zones either. However, and I am sure this has been debated before also, how about placing newly founded collect/despo type domains in different corners, to avoid immediate neighborhood and give slower players more time to develop/less reason to be asked to move, having to start over, etc? Attacking players would have to choose between still attacking them at the price of long travel times, or attacking closeby, but also similarly aggressive neighbors.

Since we are testing the game, I don't think the devs are going to invest time and effort in testing more than one zone  at a time. Honestly it will be too much work.  Recently we 've experienced many changes. Some we like and some we really don't, regardless of our politics.  But imo dividing  the world by politics its not the solution.

For next alpha I would be very happy if we just don't get packed like sardines in the beginning , like it usually happens. I think that creates too much conflict right from the get go. A little breathing room might be a very helpful 1st step towards a more smooth start.

I remember a time, I think it was A3, that we had 3 separate, areas, Greenfield is the only one I remember, it was interesting.

It might be an idea to open up the whole continent, and you could be placed willy nilly all over it. Instead of just a straight line up and down the continent as they do now.

That way it may even itself out. Just a thought is all.
