Hi,
I usually don't do the surveys (don't like how they are set up), but understand you're interested in the data, and it's obvious that you (and your team) put a lot of effort and care into it, so will give it a try.
I played 2 heros this alpha, which was part of the reason why I eventually stopped visiting Karfaree. I simply got confused of where I had done what, and since I didn't enjoy the location much in general (see below), eventually I stopped persueing it with either hero.
- not sure what the main quest was exactly, tbh
- hardly any, but trying to remember: got that blond girl to follow hero to dwelling, made the salad & got into the party. didn't do zoo (taming animals generally not my thing), had written quest location off by the time I had finished garden puzzle and could have gotten the red flowers, couldn't find 1 opera page so eventually gave up on that, got close to having the bath house guy (note: finding all the names/characters hard to remember) admit who he is, but that was about the time I ended up not liking/revisiting)
- bribed guard with one hero, through tunnel/fighting worms with other hero
+5 - made the salad, don't remember which one
- no, couldn't find key (this was before I generally got better at finding items tho, so maybe not that hard after all)
- no, 1 missing opera page
- no clue who or what doom bringer is
- think I gave the guy resources?
- yes / damaged colloseum / think I just waited (for an hour or so?)
- no. by the time I had more army, I had lost interest in the location
- no. Does this have to do with the portrait from one of the dens? again, had lost interest by the time I found that.
- no, that was around where I stopped visiting.
-19 - no. This might have been another bigger reason why I stopped visiting and persueing the quest(s). I am (fairly) young, very progressive and anything but prude. But just from reading these survey questions and reading snippets of comments from other players, I completely lost interest because it all sounded a bit silly, childish and oldschool/antiquated, like old men from a past century giggling about dirty jokes (sorry, hope this makes sense). Basically, going to be blunt here, the world/net is full of better, um, material in that department, so personally don't have need for it in this game :)
- started to, but as mentioned above, am not been a keen animal tamer in general.
- don't know where or what casino square is
- don't know/remember who Lucy is
- less interesting, found the bits I did/read fairly dull, superficial, shallow
- less interesting, see above
- probably just a few
- can't really judge as didn't try much to persue
- the conversations didn't catch my attention. As mentioned above, I never really managed to remember who is who, how they were related to each other. Found walking back and forth to characters tiresome, took too long, etc. Too much reading (and I have a lit major, haha!), and lost interest in comparing/remembering/exploring if/how different replies changed plots/actions.
- for now (will give it another try) they were too many.
- I find Karfaree very different. While the other locations imo give an overview type of gist in terms of overall story, Karfaree seems to be trying to give individual characters' stories (which, to me, feel random tho). I am usually very interested in indidual's story/fate, but not in this case. Obviously the overall size is different too and the amount of options/(sub)quests/things to do.
- I do like the idea of a bigger/more complex location. I wouldn't say needs to be split into different locations, but maybe (for me) needs to be split into different "city quarters" to not feel like such a big blob?
/32 - no idea what this question is about
- didn't really "beat" much
Okay, sorry for sounding so negative. It just didn't do it for me, although I will give it another try next alpha. Maybe I was simply too interested/busy with other aspects of the game. Although I don't think I'll ever be very interested in the stories & characters, but do want to try to solve a bit more/get more accustomed with the place. As said in the beginning, it is obvious that a lot of time/energy/creativity was spent on it, and I can see how other players might enjoy it very much.
