Lost Town attacked by myself??

1 2

I am thinking about it. Initially alpha 4 will be probably be as alpha 3 in that regard. We will enable country deletion due to inactivity if there will be too many of them.

Like I said before - 2 weeks does not count for vacations. Vacation might be longer and need different solution. That solution would be assigning proxy player, plus maybe some extra feature like one-time freezing your kingdom for a limited timeframe.

However you are missing and important fact - Totem Tribe II: Jotun was designed as a session-based game with a session length around 6 month by the end of which you will have to reach one of the possible endings (or be destroyed be someone else). If you do not reach any type of victory within that session length you will be wiped with a global cataclysm (or whatever convincing explanation we will be able to make up).

This idea of "sessions" was designed as important feature right from the start, because there are not much stuff left to do over time and sometimes people would love to stop or start over from scratch but don't have the guts to abandon country they've been nursing for months. Sure right now we don't have victories implemented, but the nature of alpha stages serves similar purpose right now.

Taking into account 6-month frame, whole month of inactivity would be too generous timeframe given to those people who abandon games fast. Being consciously away for a long periods or time like vacation is a different issue and will be treated separately.

To my understanding: If I reach a victory my hero will not be wiped and I can work on another victory? When I have 2hero's does it mean both my hero's must reach a victory?

No, if you reach victory, the game is over for that hero, you won. Other heroes are unaffected by this.

Forget two weeks - I was away for three days and my entire game went - two towns, all my players, months of work (and money). I had such fun building things up and working at my own pace to try and solve things.  I'm not ashamed to say that I sat there and cried. I'm glad everything is resetting, but I'm not sure if I want to get involved again - it really doesn't seem fair that I can go away for a weekend and everything can be destroyed.

I know it is upsetting, but because of multiplayer nature of the game such things can happen from time to time. Howerver I don't think the reason of what happened is because you were absent for 3 days. My guess would be it was because you were too weak and your defences too low. Other players would not pick on you (especially since you are communality) unless they have significantly larger army.  If you were online, it could still happen, the only difference you will be watching your buildings being destroyed one by one. Ask others, some people here were wiped too and there is nothing can be done about it because the game is designed that way - you can loose if you are weak.

The choice is fairly simple right now - you either quit playing because of frustration or start again with your experience obtained from the past playthrough and try to build a stronger country, able to fend off intruders. It also pays of significantly to be more communicative in the game - you can find more experienced players who could help you with advice, you can also get a protector or join an alliance for in-game help, and so on.

Yep been there done that, DID NOT get a T-shirt either! I learned my lesson via Irobot, he took me out in no time flat. But then I started over and did my defenses and watched an entire army get destroyed by my towers and army it was awesome to watch.

Keep playing (and ask for help) it's a really fun game..with some disadvantages to not being on 24/7 but if you make arrangements in advance, there are alot of people that can help you while you re-build your city  :) Even bad boys like to see you rebuild!

There is no Proxy yet, maybe someday there will be but not now.

So, there is still no Proxy system available?  Why in FAQ would it sound like it was a fait accompli?  Is there any way to transfer this game to a new computer or am I stuck with this old thing for the foreseeable future?  These are important questions that need a solution.  While I realize this is a Beta trial, wanting and receiving donations and having no way to keep using the game if something happens thru no fault of the Player is pretty lame, especially after a lot of time and energy being invested.  At least we should be able to shift the game to a PC laptop computer.

Proxy has no relation to this. You can play the game from any computer as long as you have your login/password. You will also need your secret question answered if you switch computers, but thats it.

TY.  Where is all this fantastic info?  I keep reading FAQs and the Forum (a lot to get thru here) and did not see that.  Every now and then I see a link to a TT II website that deals with certain issues, but have never seen a list of these sites and their issues.  Still wonder if there is a Proxy system yet.  It would help.  Thanks again.  The reason I thought I could not use another computer is I read once on Forum that u told a Player he (or she) could not use 2 computers.  But to be able to change computers is a big relief.
