Tesla puzzle

1 2

My Tesla puzzle is completed at  6x7.  My quest list says now that I have completed the puzzle a couple more times I should report to Tesla but when I click on him he just tells me to wait until puzzle is reset.  Not sure if this is a bug with the puzzle or with the reporting in quests.

I also see this as an issue. Tesla tells me to complete puzzle a couple more times. I do complete it, and my quest list says I should talk to him, but he tells me to come back in 18 hours.

Same for Nefret.

I get the same response. Quest says I have completed the requirements but Tesla does not recognize this.

we are comparing this to the garden in which she tells you to do it a couple of times and then answers and tells you to go on till the flowers turn blue. At that point you get to do it one more time and wait.

Will be fixed in the next update. Let me know if it was resolved.

I finished 8 x 8 and now have to do the 10 x 10. in quests it still says I should talk to tesla after having done the 7 x 7, but he won't discuss it.

Problem is not resolved.  I've completed the puzzle once more.  The quest list still says that I should talk to Tesla but when I do I just get the message about preparing the next experiment.

I haven't yet talked to him in the gap between the new puzzle being available and completing it.  I'll try that in 18 hours' time.

My puzzle size is up to 8 by 9.

I'm getting the same situation on another hero who had begun the quest before the last update but didn't meet the intelligence requirement to do the puzzle until after that update.

POTENTIAL SPOILER

I have my puzzle to 10x10. At the 7x7 point I had to speak to him before starting the puzzle to get the furthered quest, but upon completing 10x9 Tesla interjected and let me know the next phase, I'm not sure if that helps this thread.

Side note to Devs: In the instructions you may want to include that a player will never need to place a bulb in a spot that is already lit. Once I figured that out it helped me eliminate more options and make better decisions. Or, perhaps you want us to figure that out by trial and error. Just thought I'd mention it.

This is present in rules, read it thoroughly.

I am at Tesla 10x10. Tesla popped up and advanced me to the next level. The quest advanced as well.

I talked to Tesla with the puzzle up to 8x8, at a time when the puzzle had been reset after my last success.  This time I got a message about how the puzzle would now go up to 7x7 and a reward for my progress.

The quest log updated and now asks me to complete a 7x7 field.  This is something I've already done, but talking to Tesla again does not lead to him recognising this.  I just get the standard 'can you help me with my experiments?' and an option to ask to hear the rules again.

ETA: after I next completed the puzzle the story progressed as soo as I talked to Tesla.

I'm usually good at this stuff but I think I have a major mind block as I reread Tesla's rules, and can not figure out what constitutes a bulb shining on another.  Sometimes I am successful when the bulbs are diagonal, sometimes not (outside of the rule of the number of bulbs around a node).  Also, is there some subtlety as to which bulbs are place where on Tesla's bulb squares or is simple a 0. 1. etc?

Can someone do a rules translation a la what happened with the garden last A?

When you place a bulb it lights up its entire row and column until the light hits a wall. This means you can't place another bulb in that row or column. So you can only place bulbs on dark squares.

Bulbs may be diagonally next to each other, because the light doesn't shine diagonally. Similarly, if they're diagonally next to a node it doesn't count towards the number of bulbs associated with that node.

Thanks Severine, you clarified it and now the "light bulb" went on in my brain!

Btw, would it be possible to prepare the puzzle without it being tested from the start? For example the power would not be on so that we could place and replace the bulbs while solving and when ready pull a switch of some kind to turn the power on?

Right now I am copying the setup to excel and solving it there and then inputing it in the game but it's really a pain to be switching windows back and forth... I guess I could use pen and paper, but it's so much easier to change stuff in a calc sheet.

No. Both approaches have different pros and cons. Our approach allows you to guess, which could be a good possibility for some players who are in a hurry.
