Island of Worship-masking cloak disappeared

It has been several years since I played TTG, so maybe I did something wrong.  My scouts found the chests and opened both and I even saw the masking cloak, but it did not go in the my Treasures.  I built the temple, went to Lonely Iceberg and tapped the Scout Lodge and was told I surely needed the masking cloak, but no scouts appeared or went swimming.  Also, in the same strange vein, I went to 2 other islands that were supposed to have sharks between 2 islands and needed the harpoon, but scouts swam to the islands, got the gems and no sharks appeared.  What have I done wrong and do I have to start all over again.  Feel like a klutz.  Thanks for any info anyone may have.

I've got the same problem.  Feathers are fine, but the masking cloak disappeared. So no teeth.

A week or so was playing the end of a previously started game, and everything was fine.  Got the shark teeth etc.

If it's not in inventory/treasure chest, maybe go back to Island of Worship and see if it's appeared back there?

I'm sure you know the spot, but just in case you are as forgetful as I am, I copied this from the walkthrough "Finally, charge your Idol of Divination and cast the Clairvoyance spell in the dark patch in the south. On the right side of that island is a button that moves the rocks blocking the entrance to the clearance out of the way. Have your scouts swim to the island to collect the goodies on one side, then click the button again and do the other side. On the right you will find the Masking Cloak, on the left the last Shaman Mask, which will allow you to build temples."
