I finally got it worked out. Here are a few pointers. 1: The flowers only include the white yellow and red flower patches just next to the wheel. The rest of the flowers in the level don't count towards the total.
2: The zero of the wheel is the pointer. I was trying to match certain numbers to other numbers and that can safely be ignored. I suspect there may be other wheel puzzles in the game where its useful but for this puzzle ignore that and just count zero as the pointer of a combination lock. Count the flowers in this order white, yellow, red. If you go over 10 only the last digit counts. Write down the totals for each. Then the solution is one of the three hints. You will have to try all 3. You subtract the first number of the hint from the second number. (5=7 is -2 and 7=5 is 2) You might have either a positive or negative integer depending on the size of your number. If it is positive take those 3 digits from the flower count and move each number clockwise that many steps. If it is negative move the numbers counter clockwise that many steps. So if the hint is 3 and your flower numbers are 1,2,3, then your combination is 4,5,6. If you go over 9 on any of your combination integers then it rolls around to zero. -------------------------------------------------------- Things the developers could have done to make this puzzle more intuitive is to include some sort of information about the flowers being only those next to the wheel. Putting the hintstone about counting the flowers inside the circle for example instead of randomly throughout the level. Then instead of having numbers on the inner wheel just leave that part blank as its just confusing data. Make it like a combination lock with an arrow and it should make this a lot simpler as that is something people understand already. Third of all instead of putting the = sign in the hints just put the digits minus each other. The puzzle is plenty hard enough even with these changes. It goes from needing a forum to explain it to you to being solvable for users by applying logic.

Hello Everyone, I don't understand how the flower puzzle works. Next to the mechanism, I have 9 white flowers, 7 yellow flowers and 3 red flowers. And the following index, index 1: 9 = 2, index 2: 8 = 3 and index 3: 9 = 6. The flower table does not work because there are missing sheets in the workbook. And even though I tried all the methods indicated in the forum, none of them worked. I'm confused, help!

Lucille's spreadsheet works... however apparently some who download it get some detritus saved by others, where they have overridden the formulas in the spreadsheet by typing numbers over them. This will result in wrong answers. (I got that when I downloaded it - someone had typed over one cell which threw off the answer for one of my clues.) IMHO and all respect to Lucille... you don't need a spreadsheet. I've posted a low-tech way of solving but Berserker pointed out that it is all provided in-game. SPOILER: The inner circle of numbers is fixed. Spin the outer circle to match your clue. Note the numbers from your flowers, and the mapping given by the inner circle to outer circle of numbers. Then dial them in one at a time and hit the button. I will still say that the clues don't matter. There are a total of 10 ways to solve the puzzle, including the identity (which would have a clue of x=x like 1=1 or something like that). You can do an exhaustive search without wasting very much time. Here's how: Get your flower numbers (count the clumps, not individual flowers.) You will get three one-digit numbers x y z. You can start anywhere, but the example I give says start from x y z + 1. So dial in x+1 and hit the button, y+1 and hit the button, z+1 and hit the button. If it goes "bump!" and nothing happens then move on to x+2, y+2, z+2. The only trick is, if you get a two digit number like 11, just take the last digit and call it 1. Carry on adding one more to all the numbers... Repeat up to 9 times until the puzzle unlocks. Trust me, it will.
This worked as you said! Cheers mate:)) (But I had to go all the way down x+9, y+9, z+9... but it was worth it;/>

Basically I had x=1 white flower, y=4 yellow flowers and z=7 red flowers... First I added 1 to each flower x+1, y+1, z+1 (258) and tried then added 2 to each flower x+2,y+2, z+2 (369) and tried...Then added 3 to each flowers x+3, y+3,z+3 which is (470) (...as explained before if te sum is two digits number you use the last digit...) and so on... when I came to the end x+9, z+9, y+9 which is ( 1+9=10 / 4+9=13 / 7+9=16) (036) opened the cache behind the puzzle:))
