Well, let's suppose I didn't pay enough attention and didn't understand what actually happened (somewhat blonde in the game, you know), but when yesterday i founded a new town, it came with monsters ready - mushrooms, dendrogs, muscards, bird houses and worms, so if i want to explore it, i am forced to fight, whether I like it or not. And this will happen with the next town too, I suppose. And too much monsters in different places prevent me to go fishing in certain places - i must put a flag deliberately there.

I still don't understand what the problem is. Monsters are part of the game - you kill them, earn experience, sometimes items from them, clear the map from them to reach other parts. Naturally in order to kill them you may loose some units or your hero if you don't have her backed up with army.

My army of 46 units including hero died yesterday fighting 1 large worm and 3 medium, that is a very steep
price :(

That's why we need reset - you have got free hero levels by fighting mushrooms, and strong monsters are spawned accordingly now. 46 units (a lot of them being stone age I suppose) is a very small army for the hero of level 31.

Also, we have a separate thread specifically for your fighting monsters results and how it is steep or not so there is where all battle results should be posted.

we have to agree that monsters were too weak, but opposition hideout dendrogs took me 3/4 resurrections with an small army of 2 hunters and 2 braves, i dont know if that is supposed to be the right size for that place, but, if as history advances monsters get strong at the same speed they are now, it can be a problem

I am obviously misunderstood - I am not against monsters and fighting them, I only asked, if possible, when resetting hero to lvl 1, to clear available at that time monsters, because hero will be very weak, and monsters too strong and too much for lvl 1. At present,  I refrain from getting a higher level for my hero - there is no sense leveling up, if she will be reset. I just called necessity for help and spent 2 days trying to figure out what army configuration can help me get rid of at least a part of the available monsters. I hate to think what would have happened if I had aggressive neighbors! :))

I can make them spawn less often though. Back in the days people asked me to make them spawn MORE often, but I think now they are secretly wanting this will be reverted back :)

No secret on my part. Definitely want them to spawn less often. Once a day would be enough

There is good and bad attached to decreased monster spawning. I like the rewards that we receive when killing monsters, including the less popular ones - vials that speed up research and the extra resources. Fighting monsters decreases the time it takes to level my hero. I am in favor of a few less monsters ... but if I do have monsters and I am not willing to fight them, I just leave them alone. If I wish to have an extra challenge, it is there.

I have finished tweaking unit stats and now started working on tweaking hero stats. Once I will be done with hero, we will do as promised resetting the heroes. Today we will do preliminary tech update with bugfixes, but an actualy hero reset update will happen afterwards. Maybe even as soon as tomorrow, but more likely next week.

The issue with leaving the heavy duty monsters in place with a level one hero is how are we going to be able to tell the monsters that were left in place from the new ones spawning? I even tried using fire cannons on the worms....it didn't help. Also I am sure that others like me spent a lot of money on enlightenment if we don't get them back or there are not a lot more of them dropped then we basically lost that money until phase 4 unless there will be more than enough to make sure our hero can level every time he/she gets enough points to meditate without ever buying another enlightenment.

I am not complaining I just see issues coming up that need to be addressed and explained before the update takes place.

With monsters being fixed and me currently rebalancing the army and hero stats, we will need to do a small "wipe" soon. Because of monsters were weak for a long time since alpha 3 start, and in the beginning of alpha 3 they also spawned every 5 minutes some people have reached high levels very fast without trouble.

Currently we are rebalacing hero system which will include hero power, exp requirements per level and so on. In order to see a proper picture and test it, we need to clean up things related to hero:

  • All heroes of all players will be reset to level 1, all experience earned will be nullified.
  • Equippable items like swords and armor will be taken away as they improve hero stats.
  • Naturally there will be weaker monsters spawning when you are at level 1 (starting from mushrooms)
  • This will not influence your towns or country in any way, just your hero.

I know some people won't be happy about this, but this is test game and because of rebalance we need to start with heroes from blank.

Hi, will we loose all upgraded tech, also?

I noticed that current worms have HP ranging from 600 to 1200. If you click on any monster you can see the HP. Without upgraded weapons and armor my lvl 17 hero and classic-age infantry can manage a 600 HP max. After update the new monster HP will be much less. Click on monsters before you attack so you know what the HP is and what to expect/avoid. I hope this helps :)
