I've found a bug. The list of the latest forum posts on the home page.. if you are logged in you will be taken to the latest post, but if you are logged out you get taken to either the first page of the thread or somewhere in the middle of the thread.

As I know this is an expected behavior for forums in general.

When you're logged in you are redirected to the latest unread post because the web site knows your last visit. In turn when you are logged out the web site does not know this much about you and drives you to the 1st post.

I'm not sure to be honest. I've been using an ipad for the last couple of weeks instead of my normal computer, and since I didn't have access to my email I didn't bother resetting the password to read the forums. I've tried it a few times on the ipad since you posted and can't seem to get it to reproduce the error. Either this is my own mistake and I jumped the gun - very likely - or it's ghosting me.

I think part of this new posts problem is that it didn't start from the beginning.

What I have noticed is that some of the forums with many pages don't know that I have already read those pages. so when I go to that forum unless I am careful it will take me to that already read page.

This is shown on the actual discussions page by the highlighted numbers on the forum topic.

So even though I have read them they are bold and if I don't pay attention it will take me to the earlier page.

Not sure if I explained this well but once those pages have been visited again now that something is keeping track the problem goes away. I hope this makes sense to you all or shows that it isn't really a bug for new people.

There is indeed some inconsistency with this whole "new posts" thing and opening latest post read in threads. But it is not easy to reproduce and takes time to locate and fix all the inconsistency so I decided it's not the top priority and take care of it some time later. After all it's not breaking the website, just adds a little bit inconvenience from time to time.

Ah, glad to know I'm not totally crazy. And no problems about waiting for the fix - this is the thread for bug reporting, so I thought I'd report it!

I suggest you add the page buttons to the top of the topic too, I have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the thread to go forward or to the end of the thread. 

Actually there are page buttons at the top, take a closer look :)

I've been meaning to mention this problem too - I think the issue is that the anchor takes you to an area on the page below the top buttons, so you don't notice them when you arrive. But that's just the forum pages. On the news pages there are no top buttons at all.

Indeed news pages had no page bar on top. Fixed.

At big posts like these http://www.totemtribe.com/talk/my-general-impressions-so-far-including-suggestions/ the player's picture is shown at the end of the post, shouldn't it be under the name even if the post is very long?
