Invite System and Unique Rewards

Invite System and Unique Rewards

We have finally released a new Invitation System. This system was designed to encourage existing players to invite new players into the game and allow them to earn up to 60 items per single invited player. A lot of these items are unique and cannot be obtained otherwise.

The idea behind this invitation system is to not only generously reward efforts of inviting other people to play Totem Tribe II: Jotun, but at the same time make the invitation well thought-out. We do not want to just spam everyone hoping someone will join. This is why the number of invites is limited. However, achievements per each invited player are plenty. We don't need a lot of players, instead we need players who will stay playing here. This type of player is rewarded the most.

The reward goodies include regular consumable items, cages with pet monsters, statues that can be placed in your town as decoration, and also a unique outfit for your hero. The outfit is not yet working, but it is work-in- progress. It can be obtained even now, so by the time you get it, most likely it we will already be implemented. If not, you will just have to wait some time to put it on.

The new invite screen is pretty much self-explanatory, so switch to the "Donate" tab and learn from there. If something is still not clear please post questions in comments below.

Although the process of inviting others has been working for a while now, and some players already used it to invite their friends and/or relatives, the rewards are pretty new and only calculated for players invited In December 2015 and later. Don't let the list of invited players confuse you if you have already invited someone.

This invite system emerged from this thread:

http://www.totemtribe.com/talk/survey-would-you-invite-more-players-to-totem-tribe-ii/

So - if you want to learn more about background and motivation - you can read it. It is also a good example of how players' feedback can affect the actual game. So if you have been passive on forums, thinking your opinion doesn't matter, you can revise that thought and start participating in discussions more actively :)

Let us know what you think about this new system. This update is very important to game success - as now we are approaching the stage where we will have to spread the word about Totem Tribe II: Jotun - and who can do it better than players who already know and love this game?

I like the system and I do have people interested in playing that I can invite. In the process of 'selling' the game to them I took my laptop to their house and logged on to show them the game, thereby gaining their interest in playing. I find that showing someone the game peaks their interest much more than just telling them about it (it is VERY impressive looking!).  Unfortunately, because I logged on with their ISP a single time (as I understand it) if they begin playing they will be 'associated' with me. This will impede my ability to mentor them in the game as I would not be able to reinforce them, send them res, or do joint attacks with them. I understand the need for associations but wonder if it is possible to tweak it so we can use the game to sell itself to others?

Thanks kmcy, that's the spirit! :)

Who knows, maybe they won't be associated with them, unless you have registered their accounts from your laptop. We will see.

I have invited some new players, but not sure they will stay. I understand this is a game of expansion and war,but if the newplayer's first interaction with other players is one of hostility or threat, why would they want to play. I have seen in cc new players get chewed up for asking "the wrong question or in the wrong place". Have people forgotten they themeselves were once new at this game and also felt a bit lost. Can we at least give a player a chance to learn the basics before we tell them to move! Players dont choose their spot, its given to them. We can tell if a player is new, 1 hero level 1 or 2. Cant we cut them some slack? I just wonder how long and how many new players will stick around? Just a thought ...

You are right, it is a good idea to smooth the progression for newbie players a little bit. I have outlined my thoughts on what can be done about it here:
